What is your biggest character flaw?

College. Got a PhD in finance. I teach managerial finance and business law (and have a JD degree). Just won professor of the year too.

teaching for me is so much more than just putting material out in class. We need to be mentors and recognize that we are planting seeds in peoples minds and that is a very serious business. Too few professor go the distance.

Most people here probably think I am abrasive and opinionated but you wouldn't recognize me outside of this message board. IMO teaching is one of the most honorable professions a person can have - if it is done right.

as wierd as it sounds, I have a hard time with loyalty. I guess it's the same as trust but some guys that I've been friends with for like 15 years, they can be trusted unconditionally. But I've been burned by friends that I thought were loyal and in one moment, usually over something stupid they prove they are not the loyal friend I think they are. When someone has proven to be a loyal friend, I in turn am very loyal. Needless to say I only have about 7 guys I'd trust totally.

In no particular order:

1) Addictive personality. While I've mostly conquered it, I still have a hard time doing anything I enjoy in moderation.

2) I have a hard time being confrontational when I really need to be. It's so easy for me to stand up for my friends, and so hard for me to stand up for myself and hold people accountable for the wrongs they've done me.

3) I have a fortress, not just a wall, around me. There's no method to getting past it...either you clear my army of self defense mechanisms right off the bat, or you don't.

4) Type a, type a, type a. I expect nothing less than perfection of myself in everything I do, and I know it can be exhausting to be around.
