Suspension of disbelief is a wonderful thing, but there are less and less instances (movie or game-wise) of being able to sit in front of your tv and be truly afraid.
The last truly scary movie I saw was High Tension, most of it anyway.
Other than that the Silent Hill games have been the only thing able to soak my brain in tension and horror. The movie looks like it'll follow through with that as well.
Lets say this is only for fictional works, since there's no need for suspension of disbelief with non-fiction.
