what body fat should one aim for if having a photo shoot? Makavelli..

As i have stated i am having some photos done soon. I am currently at 11% but not sure what to aim for.. 6,7,8%??
Also should one carb load, water deplete, etc prior to having the shots done. Is it usual to water deplete before a shot or would it be best to be fully carb loaded??

It's more than a million pages - just when I think it's "asleep" - it gets bumped, and the curiosity factor kicks in again.
 
yeah i am bored at work and always have a lot of questions, some not relevant!
I am starting a new job in a week though with no internet access so you wont be seeing me much!! ha ha

I dont think its a body fat %, but rather how you appear. Bodybuilders dont strive for a certain body fat % before a comp., they go by appearance. Everyone's skin has different thicknesses so it is difficult to detect proper body fat % anyway; unless it is done underwater. Peace!

It has been on the first page of the boards for a longggggg time now. Everytime i open up my profile theres a new bump lol. just scroll down don't think you can miss it.
 
Yeah, that thread has gotten pretty long. It take forever to read through everything, but I think it's well worth it.

For Massive, the bodyfat % that you shoot at depends on what kind of photo shoot it is and how you look. Some guys can get away with being 7-8%, while others need to be 4%. I have a shoot in two days and I'm about 4.5-5% right now. That's where I need to be for the mag that I'm shooting for. Yes, you need to drop your water, but you don't necessarily have to carb load. I didn't carb load for the shoot I posted here and I won't for this one either. I don't need to be full and looking like I'm going to burst. I need to be dry and hard. So that's what I do. If you are a freak and are shooting for Flex, then I would recommend carb loading as that's what they want to see.

Thank god. Do everyone including yourself a favor, pick ONE goal and stick with it for more than 2 days. You'll be amazed at what happens.

Very well worth it, you spent an amazing amount of time doing it and all the Props are given to you. Just to add what Mak said depending on what photography your doing the way your face looks at a certain bf% is very important as well.

6% is a good # to go for. Just make sure you see your abs at 6%.
 
i can generally see all my abs at 12% i not saying i would be ready for a shoot or anything but i have a very thicxk torso whcih means i can get away with more bf i guess.

That's right. I don't think that you will be able to do a shoot at 11%. I know that high fashion models can get away with being 10% if they have a lean face naturally. Your face needs to look healthy.

Right on point! Fashion and print can be 10% no problem as long as you have a natural lean face. I was doing it at 10%, however it limited me to what I could do. But who knows, next post might say.....
How long do you think and how much AAS should i take to become the next MR.Olympia?
