What are the best over-the-counter supplements to use to gain mass??

HMB, Creatine, Glutamine, Protein Powder, maybe...weight gainer. the only supps ever worth paying for.

If you can get them for free or dirt cheap then I think that any supplement may have MINIMAL benefit.

if you are going to use pro-hormones you might as well juice, they exhibit all of the side effects but with very little if ANY positive effect. i know the man personally who was responsible for testing the effects of androstenedione on the collegiate level and the results SUCKED. a lot of estrogen, some DHT, almost no testosterone. i realize some of the newer ones are a bit better, even though they have never been seriously tested in a reputable experiment, but even if they do produce some increase in testosterone there will be a much higher rate of side effects per milligram comparison with actual testosterone.

IMO

Obviously my facitiousness was lost on a few people.

So let me spell it out.

I'm not recommending salty pizza, I'm just saying that salt and water will cause water retention. And water retention is water retention.

Of course food is the answer here. And if you want the biggest bang for your buck in that department, the answer would be ORGANIC EGGS -- maybe the most anabolic substance on earth, short of drugs.

creatine and 19 nor4 andriol worked very well for me. You can buy the andriol in powder form and save lots of money at Kilosports. It will lower your testosterone levels if you stay on too long. At least it did mine.

Nelson

Water rentention is not water rention, there is subcutaneous water retention and intr celluar water retention. Creatine causes musles to absorb water into their cells, salt just leaves water on your body mass.

Best gains from eating, like everyone said. Best gains of my life came from eating meals like:
Half a grande Meal at Taco Bell
or
4 McD's Double Cheeseburgers
or
5 Wendy's 5 Piece Nuggets.
I also had some success just drinking protien powder when I couldn't stomach real food. Creatine was good too, with alotta dextrose.

Anaconda; It sounds like you've been reading the Bill Phillips Sports Supplement fairy tale again.

Ok, Neslon, you said one thing that made sense. Eggs(or any whole food protein) is anabolic. But, I think High Intensity said that in the first damn post. Thanks for your knowleedge. But, unless you wanna provide some proof that tried and true supps like creatine are a waste... then stop wasting board space, b/c just spouting it out is not gonna be taken as gospel around here.

Any credibility you had just took a leap out of the top floor window.

Why? He is 100% right. Creatine is only useful for one reason. Creatine serves to increase leverage by changing the angle of insertion of the muscle via intramuscular water. This TEMPORARILY increases strength, and MIGHT lead to increased muscle gain as a result of working with heavier poundages. All of the ATP shit is bull in my book. It's no miracle, and frankly, I hate the shit.

His salty pizza thing isn't exactly accurate because there is a difference WHERE the water is retained. If it is not retained in a way that increases leverage (e.g. its retained in FACE or fat ass stomach), then it wont help. Creatine seems to lead to more water retention where it is most useful. The salty pizza thing was just sarcasm anyway, we all knew what he meant when he said it.

I totally agree that Glutamine is a joke. Those who don't think so are usually the ones that have been taken for big money on it and hate to admit it.

I would think that any one whom researches creatine would realize there are more benifits to it than just water retention. I think these studies go back well before we were all born. Besides the water retention you get from creatine can be very useful. Errrr thats like the people who say creatine will dehydrate you, come on. The problem with glutamine is people don't take it properly. Multiple small doses throughout the day (like 2 or 3 grams here and there) will prove much better results than one or two large doses. Just wondering Nelson. Is this info from the book you are selling?????
