What are Good Board Games for Two?

Some games (i.e., monopoly, trivial pursuit, Uno), really, really suck with only two players. What's good to play (ideally, something timeless) other than puzzles, backgammon, othello, triominos, scrabble, checkers, chess and cards ...

This promises to be a shitty weather weekend and drinking, going to the mall/movies/museum is out.

BTW, it doesn't have to be a game only for grown ups, just interactive entertainment (other than sex)

there are some cool games on dvd that are pretty fun. Family feud is fun, comes on a disk, and is interactive using your remote and included whiteboards.

Cribbage is a totally awesome game. We used to have tournaments at my buddies place(yes I am that big of a nerd).
