just got back home and i have some water damage, no power but phone lines are up.

my carpets in the bedrooms are soaked, i think it came in with the rushing water and seeped into the breathing spaces in the bricks. Have some roof damage over my carport but thats all i have noticed so far.

however, my sisters house is now 5ft under water and still rising, my X's brother has 10ft of water at his house and still rising.

most of what is south of us is shut down due to rising water from the Gulf of Mexico. The Lake behind me is connected so not sure if it will spill over to me.

Im sitting here with a damn flashlight on my head, lol, cause I KNOW everyone just was waiting for me to get back and all of elite haulted due to my absence. heehehe

nonetheless I and my family are safe, and thats all that matters. I'll access my damages later.

I ended up in Marianna (sp) FL for a few nights, Didn't make it to jacksonville. thanks to all of you that extended your help esp you Bigmann and wife :rose:

Its an amazing thing to see all of the outreach when your fellow ef'ers are in need.

well i am a bit tramatized..lol My kids wouldn't let me leave without their dad so that meant spending two days with my X :worried:

We were civil though.

Now i can either go to my moms where there is no power or to my X's who's agreed to go to the neighbors for the night and let me stay there with the kids. I just feel a bit uncomfortable and awkard with him

Well he sound's like he is being very civil about the whole thing. I think you should go where ever the kid's feel the safest. Glad to hear all is well. Damage is replaceable live's are not.

Well back during daylight hours and realize i have more water damage than i though. It just went out quick. It fugging smells like swamp in my house right now making me sick.

Roof has more damage than i first thought too... entire back side, shingles are missing all over but roof is still intact. Back glass door is shattered, seems my big ass metal BBQ pit slammed into it a few times. Doubt my AC will be working now it was a bit under water.

A few inches seems to have come in after accessing the water lines on the doors and walls. Seems we got a huge rush of water from the lake and then it scattered about but you can see where the water was hitting the bricks from the water lines.

What really sucks is how long ill have to wait to get assistance. There are still people from Katrina waiting on FEMA and RedCross.

Lost everything in my fridge and freezer :( whew, that is a bad odor. Not to mention the backed up sewer because of the rising water and no where to go. grrrrrrrrr

I'm hella depressed, this is the fourth time i've flooded and i am tired of losing shit and having to start tearing down walls, replacing carpets and cutting sheetrock.

Still no electricity in my area and prolly won't be for a week or so, thats what they say.

Do you have somewhere to stay?? because once that water goes down youll have to worry about mold and stuff and breathing it.

i guess i will be headed to some shelter somewhere.

Im a fucking mess, i can admit that.

no hotels all the way to florida or tenn... and even if so i don't have the finances to stay in a hotel for weeks on end till i get my house livable.

so is fucking life right?

Dam Frisky I glad to hear your physically safe but things are sure to take an emotional toll on yeah. Losing all that stuff is tough regardless if it is material there is a lot of memories in objects.

frisk i am glad to hear you are ok. the offer still stands if ya need a place to stay for a bit. my doors are always open you know that. i was looking forward to meeting you but im glad that you did the safe thing and didnt try to drive straight through. you had me worried there for a sec. did ya end up having to pay for the hotel i got for ya? i hope not, that would really suck. but like i said, if ya need a place to stay let me know.

also, when you get ready to fix up your place im available to help as well. i have a very cheap labor cost around the area of free. and i am an electrician as well so utilize me i dont mind. all i ask for is a southern home cooked meal.. lol. dont be bashful i am serious. i would not mind helping you fix your place up at all. thats what friends are for.

Frisky, get on the phone to FEMA and get your stuff in and once you tell them that you can't live in your house they will hook you up w/ $2k for living expenses. Have your bank account info ready and they can direct deposit it. We got that just from our ceiling collapsing in our living room from Katrina. W/ water in your casa I'm sure you'll get that money too.

Fema is no where to be found right now

I just was with my sister who has water up to her roof top and she's holding it all together. I completely broke down for her. I don't know how shes doing it. Im sick, can't eat cant sleep just a freaking mess

Fema is supposed to be setting up in the area. Not sure when they will be open but im headed that way.

Have yet to find shelter. Looks like ill be camping out in the altima bah! But its dry so I can't complain.

Not much that i can say but I pray things work out for you, you are an awesome person and you WILL get through this. Hopefully the changes they made after Katrina work and you get help fast.

we are just a phone call away. and i meant what i said in the pm too. times like these we all need to stick together. i have absolutely no problem helping you guys fix up your homes. even your sisters. whatever it takes just let me know. ill be there with my tools and a smile.

btw, i love crawfish. every year we have a crawfish festival and we never miss it. they are supposed to be home cooked but its hard to call mass quantity a home cooked meal.. lol. but ill bet that yours beats them all.

it upsets me to know you have to live in your car. i even have a generator that i bought for times like these. i wish you knew the status of your house before you left to go back. i would have loaned it to you. if there is a way you can get it from me ill still loan it to you. its brand new, just got it this year. let me know.

Also, sorry to hear you couldn't get a room until Marianna (shivers). Hopefully FEMA will get approval for campers and trailers. They'll even bring it onto your property, level it and hook it up for you. At least you'd have a clean place to sleep, shower and eat while you fix your house.
