Weird Calf Equipment

I saw this contraption on Ebay. Has anyone used a Sky King Calf Isolator? It is supposedly for increasing a basketball player's vertical leap. I can see good weight training uses for it since it applies 1000lbs of resistance. Opinions anyone?

looks like you can make your own contraption with a couple of bands. that thing looks like a waste of money, IMO
