Was this a panic attack

most likely your panic attacks will not lead to agoraphobia. i have only had one and controlled it mentally. medications such as paxil and other SSRI's should be used with caution (paxil is a very strong SSRI). behavioral therapy will work in certain instances.....if you are willing to seek professional help.

you have many options from several drug categories to cognitive/behavioral therapy to a combination of the two........seek the advice of both a psychiatrist and let him reccomend you to a good psychologist---youll be fine brother

thanks guys. im on some test and eq week 5 should i stop.

I noticed Eq increased my anxiety a great deal. Some may not agree with me but if they get to a point where you are unhappy and it is screwing with your training then I would stop the cycle.

good post and try very hard to get a hold of this on your own without meds....if you ever need to talk just shoot me an email i would be happy to give you my number.....one cant even imagine what these are like until they have one on their own.....

next time you feel one coming on just stop what your doing and take in some deep breaths through your nose and try to even meditate.

positive thinking brings positive results

Hey, I'm prone to panic attacks due to a chemical imbalance...it sucks as it also cause Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), depression, and bi-polar disorder (which goes with depression) in me.

Anyway, my panic attacks have never been so bad that I thought I was going to die. Basically, with me I start thinking about a problem in my life or something that's buging me and it can escalate to the point where I feel I need to fix it immediately. My heart beat gets more rapid, I can't sit still and my mind is going a mile a minute and I can't focus on anything else. I used to get 'em in school during exams sometimes and that REALLY sucked.

I honestly feel that the best way to deal with them is to use your mind to go around the problem. It's difficult to describe but after trying many different meds (paxil included) - which all fucked me up even worse by far - I eventually just fixed my own head enough at least for me to live a normal (or at least somewhat normal) life.

If I can help in any way (like my experiences with meds like paxil, zoloft, lithium, etc.) please PM me dude.

Just RELAX bro. Go to the doc and get your self checked out and that will put your mind at rest and every time you feel it just tell yourself you are going to be fine. Hang in there buddy

sometimes there is no other choice in using meds and if one is at that point they should without a doubt use them....BUT the best thing to do is try and control it on your own....its so easy for a doc to throw you on meds and send you on your way without telling you about the day when you need to go off..
