Was General Tso a Good Warrior?

I'm here stuck at work and we're ordering from a chinese place (yeah I'm eating healty ) and anyway I ordered General Tso's Chicken. I wonder if he was any good at war mongering. Chicken isn't exactly a flattering connotation. I'd think a good general would have a beef dish named after him. But what do a I know.
