Nope. I had a silver spoon in my butt which I traded in for gold plated with diamond studded handle.
 
I was born to a fairly typical middle class family, single income. Not a rough way to come up by any means, but note one of self indulgent priviledge.
 
My parents have alot of money, I never got or see any of it. Everything I have I worked for myself.
 
I was spoiled growing up. My dad's government.

My parents were of modest income but I had plenty of handouts. They made life as easy for me as they could. They paid for my out of state tuition at UNC. They bought me my first car. They gave me spending money. Hell, they did more for me than most of my richer friends parents did for them.

But it was never taken for granted, or expected, and once I was able I gave them a wonderful wonderful three week second honeymoon vacation in southeast asia that they never could have afforded for themselves.

Yes. He's having a hard time. I spoke with him today. He thinks this is temporary and thinks will go back to normal. Hizbollah are assholes. They should all be thrown in jail.
 
I bet it goes on for a while. I have a relative who was in the CIA and now handles *cough* charity work. She was in Beirut not too long ago. It just seems like Iran is pulling more and more strings to spark a few fights.
 
I was poor and lived in a trailer park and then about 5 foster homes and then went in Army and got out and went to college and got my degree and was living the american dream. Bought a beautiful house on the water, 2 cars, motorcycle, boat, waverunner, and vacations all the time! Then I got married had two kids and divorced and live in a apartment with one car!!

Yes you can add me to that club for sure!!! $359 a week in CS too!! I love my kids and don't mind but it kills me that she's always in the mall shopping for herself!

The majority of people don't want to perform hard work. Hence why the majority of people are not "successful" (most aren't even content. that's sad).

I was but never knew it until I was older. We didn't starve but ate some real weird meals though. Have done real well for myself over the years.

Both my husband and I were raised poor.

He left home at 16.

I left home at 20ish (much to my parents' dismay).

He made a TON of dough and lost it all by the time I married him.

We have busted our asses (together) ever since and been through some hard times. But we have managed to stay together as we claw our way back to the top. :heart:

Raised on a TRUE farm. I learned to drive HUGE tractors at 13.
Sold corn on th ecorner street for 1.00 for 10 or somehting like that no Shat..... we had cows chicken and stuff..I learned to figth by kicking the crap out of mean Roosters...

Didnt have much...small farm house 1 bath...

I was born and raised in the suburbs in NJ (please don't hold that against me LOL) but my parents made sure that we spent near every summer, all summer back at my grandparent's farm in Magyar Orszag. We are talking cows, pigs, chickens, chamber pots, outhouses, no TV, playing all day long at the water hole, climging trees and being home by lunch and dinner when the church bells rang. My crippled care-worn Mama would make something different for her "American" grandchildren for breakfast, lunch and dinner with water drawn from the well on a wood-burning stove.

I miss my Mama...

Nope, my family was fairly solidly middle class by the time I was born.

My dad, on the other hand, spent his first 12 years or so living in dirt floor shacks with no plumbing, in Depression-era Oklahoma. Getting drafted for WWII was probably the best thing that ever happened to him, it got him the hell away from Oklahoma, put some money in his pocket, and there was the GI Bill.

i didnt pay for any of that either but i dont think I was raised wealthy
solid middle to upper middle class though
im the oldest and my dad worked his way up so by the time i was ready for college, he was making a lot of money
 
My mom inherited a huge horse and cow farm that had been in the family. Fugging struggle until a major milk company bought the cow side. My Dad's a combat engineer which by no means paid huge money then.....does now due to 30 years in the military plus combat bonuses.

I landed a college scholarship, drove a shit car...nothing serious.

I just landed in the right spot, know the right people. Started a finance company with a guy who was the head for Playboy casinos and that landed me some serious money.

Now, I fart gold dust instead of stinky milk farts
 
I've always had the most loving, kind family, so I would have to say we were pretty rich. No matter how little money we had, we were always rich
 
I was raised fairly flippin spoiled. Summer house/boat, winter ski condos/season ski passes EVERY winter.
When I was 17 I wanted the "bandit" type Trans Am.
I had one
My father had a nicely loaded full size Blazer, I eventually got that as a winter car.
I can't even begin to explain how much I manipulated my parents into something I wanted.

Now I'm a lazy, spend money like it's goin outta style, still work full time, and my life revolves around my wife and daughter

My parents divorced when I was 4 years old. I went to stay at my nanas house while my mom busted her butt working and schooling. My nanas hubby was a fucking dink and did not like my moms boytoy so we moved out. During that time we lost everything, I am talking trailors, multiple eviction notices, etc.
My mom did not get her shit together till I was in 9th grade. Her current husband helped a lot and without him I would be the welfare poster child. Fuck yeah we were poor. Laugh at me, say whatever..Like none of you here have not ever done it before.
I took what my life was like and swore that my kids would never be like that..They will have what the need, what they want, etc. They will always have a house, they will have good food....I have worked hard and I continue working hard daily to get where I want to be. And seriously if my parents were rich and I was a spoiled little money brat I probably would not have accomplished what I have.

Exactly. Besides funny as it may seem I take pride in the fact that I was dragged through hell and back as a child. It really made me open my eyes and see a future that I would never want. It basically has help mold who I am today.
I totally agree..You can still be poverty level, yet be rich!!
 
I wasnt spoiled at all. Came from a lower middle class home. Very rarely went on a vacation. But always had food and clothes and had my education paid for me. I think I learned the value of a dollar at a young age.
Now I feel like Im doing ok financially...make pretty good money...always could make more though

My Mom was dirt poor; she had 2 jobs by the time she was 14. She also swore she would never let her family live the way she did. She became a wealthy woman, as did my uncle (her bro).
Pain is a geat motivator

Raised working class by a single mother who worked nights at the Post Office. She, however, was able to provide all the necessities, private school education (what can I say, she has brilliant children-lol) and refused to take ANY handouts (private or public). The greatest measure of her success: three completely different, self-sufficient children.
