video of soldier tossing puppy off cliff

Nothing will happen. Move on.

But other than that - people will forget and move on. Here's a shocker: American GI's have been killing fellow soldiers, dogs, civilians and even raping girls and boys for DECADES! Oh No! Stop the presses!

The same could be said for almost every group of people on the planet. You're never going to stop all the shitheads from getting in. You have a guy who got in after changing his name to Jihhad in the news now. However, you seem to be painting with a broad brush as most of the people being in sharing these experiences.

It is unfortunate but war will change a person. Everybody sitting at their PC thinks their mind is so strong, they are sooooo determined. You just have no idea how any sort of trauma will change your life... Imagine that the soldier who tossed that puppy had just seen a guy he went thru basic training with get blown to bits the day before. When a cop shoots his gun, he gets time off and therapy. When a soldier sees a friend bleed to death in front of him... He has to handle the corpse himself and write to the guy's family... Or mail his departure letter...
I'm not justifying what he did, it was cruel. The real issue I think we should really be worried about the mental health of ALL of our soldiers coming home.

You'd think someone who has seen all that, seeing lives destroyed on a daily basis, would come to see all life as something precious, not as something to be casually and callously wasted.

It changed my life for the better.

I wouldn't doubt that it hits some people that way. I'm sure it also affects some with a violent/nonchalance/emotional/detached/delayed/immediate/long-term/short-term....and on and on reaction. Everyone's different.

As I posted earlier, some become sociopaths... :worried: That's why I'm a letter writer for veterans, I want my brothers in arms to be given the health services they deserve.

Some girls are molested and become promiscuous, some become prude. Some victims pass on their pain and victimize another child, some live normal happy productive lives. It depends on the person.

I hear you. Some people get fucked for life, and never get help for it. Plus, sometimes it is a cultural thing where you don't want to admit something is wrong, and people will ignore it as long as you say you're cool because it's not a touchy-feely job. They give you psych-evals when you get done with a deployment (at least they used to, I think they still do), but most lie on those cause they don't want to get held up going home. Getting with the VA when you get out takes months if you had it documented. If you didn't have it documented for some reason (didn't want the hassle/stigma/time away) then good luck with the VA, they are busy.

Sorry I am late on this thread. I may not in the best shape as some here are, but my dog is freaking bad ass. I trained her myself, have trained dogs for many years (just mine). She is a sharpei/Rottweiler. Odd mix, no. I say no because fools like that would walk up to her and if I say the word they couldn't grab her for the skin rolls, yet she has the muscle of a Rottweiler, and the teeth. I would never have her do anything, except to punks like that. Owning is also responsability, which i have. I just hope one day if I ever visit Hawaii that I don't see him, I would love to kick the sheot right out of him. There is no excuse at all for doing that. As for the guy who was laughing and video taping it, I hope he rots in hell. Where was their commander. Where was the leadership. Is this what American military has come to be.......... OMG..... klonapin time..... calm down walli!

See, calling me "heartless" because i don't care about a puppy is just another example of how silly and irrational you are; you don't even know me or how i treat the people in my life. Your definition of heartless is not valuing a cute puppy more than the rest of the animals whose plight you ignore. You have no more heart and conscience than the rest of us, just the same selfish and inconsistent morality as every one else but with different values.

Posting his info on this board was fucked up. You are not saving any puppies by doing so, he was instructed to kill them anyway. The fact that he enjoyed it upset you, so you are being vindictive. The truth of the matter is you want to see that soldier incarcerated because on some level you have are terrified to have somebody like that coexist on the same planet as your son. Even though he will never encounter him, you would rather just ruin his life right now than take the chance. You would kill to save your son's life, and you would try to protect your son if he was the one who threw a puppy off a cliff, so why act like you are special in any way?

PWNED

and so true

Like I said. Be happy. One day he'll be your city cop, and you can see how well he'll treat you too. Enjoy folks!
