Vascularity, does it come with age?

TooJacked said:
It probably has to do with the combination of everything, diet, age, experience, and drugs, also genetics.

yeppers. what were your stats in the pic? and weight class etc? look good dude (fucking young bastards)..........:D

Actually, vascularity does increase with age somewhat, but for the most part, it's genetics. Sure, if you're fat, you won't see veins but one guy can have 12% and be veiny whereas the next guy can be 6% and...nothing. Luck of the draw. Take two exact body types but one is vascular and the other isn't and the one that's vascular will look ten times more muscular. Skinny guys who don't work out can even look somewhat muscular as long as they have a tan. Pisses me the fuck off.

Age and genetics, I think. I've always been vascular, but it has gotten serious in my twilight years.......little kids come up and poke at my veins cause they think I'm gonna explode.

Big Fed- First off, thanks. Stats at time of photo were 20 yrs old. 5'7" 173lbs. so I competed at middleweight.

IronMaster- Sick forearm bro. You gave me a lot of advice when I started GH, thanks. Only did it for about 4 months leading up to the show, but I must say it made a world of difference in my physique. I did notice increased vascularity while on GH as opposed to while off. Do you think GH aids in making veins bigger or is more-so from the decresed BF% from using it.

you are fuckin jacked bro--maybe its the pic, but is ur body like a million times tanner then ur face??? maybe u just didnt put the lotion on ur face when u took the pic--lol--vascularity wise, my vascularity seriously changes by the day-im 20, one day il be veiny as hell, the next day, nada--they are there tho, i can see em workin out--guess i just gota drop a lil bf

Yea, the lighting is one thing, plus the fact that I didn't put anything on my face yet. I don't like that fake tan on my face, so I left till the last possible minute before I went onstage . . . it's funny everyone who sees that pic says the same thing, maybe I'll just cut off the head next time.

TooJacked......you look damn good. Great symmetry like that is what wins shows. I trust that you intend to continue competing.

GH enhances vascularity by improving lean body composition, and by changing the appearance and elasticity of the skin. It gives that paper-thin skin look after long-term use.

It's hard to balence out the fake tan stuff, esp. when you can't check it under stage lighting. For some reason, it always wants to darken on the torso. Hell, Gunter had the same thing going at the GNC show and he still won.

Keep us posted on your shows, young brother.

Thanks ironmaster, I'll be sure to keep you guys posted. Many of the bros on this board gave me a ton of help, and I appreciate it. I intend to keep on competing and hope to, at the very least , enter a National level competion and maybe, just maybe turn pro one day. we will see were the road of life leads me. Thanks again.

hah. tell a lot of these numbskulls you were 173 and did AAS and they would flame you. then show them the pic and tell them your BF% and height and they would say good job. just goes to show you that you can't go by weight since BF% and height/bone structure varies so much. :D us 5'7"/5'8" guys can weigh 40 lbs less and look better much of the time. :p

Vascularity increases over years of training to meet the increased demands of your muscles new capilaries and blood vessels are formed to help get oxygen to and carry contaminents away from hard working muscles. You still have to be lean enough to see them and genetics of course plays a part, but I also feel its just another adaptation to exercise we perform regularly.
