I wouldn't mind seeing that whole region be turned loose on each other with no outside interference. Let Israel fight the war against the whole middle east like they have been preparing to do for years, and let destiny decide the winner.

Isreal is its own country...Why instead of trying to reason with the Palestinians and be a glutton of punnishment with all these terrorist attacks dont they just kick out every palistinian, make a national ID and never let another Palestinian or Arab in again. A) You cannot compare internationally recognized borders of Israel and Palestine to the American conquest of Native American land. The US is not occupying land that is outside its borders, Israel is.

B) When was the word "Palestinian" created really, Id like to know. Regardless of that both sides claim to be the ancient residents of those lands. Barring a time machine, we ought to stick to the borders that are there now, and that Israel is violating.

C) To summarize, Israel is in fact acting as an occupying force in Palestine. The Palestinians have ever right to expel the invading army by any means necessary.

After the Romans destroyed the temple and kicked the Jews out of Israel, Rome renamed the area Palestine after the Jews historical enemy, the Philistines. Rome also renamed Jerusalem "Aelia Capitolina", but that didn;t stick at all.

If you want to talk history, Jews were living in Israel before Romans, before Persians, before Babylonians and long long before Islam was even invented.

The UN carved Israel out of the most barren land it could find - largely desert, no oil, and very little access to water...for perspective it is smaller than New Jersey and less than 1% of the "Middle East" What is currently known as "Palestine" has never actually been a country called Palestine. As part of the british empire it was known as Trans-Jordan, more of a regional name than a sovereign one.

There has never been a nation called Palestine. Most of the citizenry of the area was displaced after WW2 actually. Many of you should look up what happened to these displaced people when they sought refuge in Jordan and Syria.

The Israelis did not seize the land their country is on; it was given by UN mandate. This is similar to the creation of Yugosalvia...oddly (or not) the same stuff happened there.

The dispusted land - Gaza and the West bank - was seized by Israel after it won a war that it did not start. To the victor go the spoils, right?

Those who do not know history are doomed to look like assholes in front of those that do.
