the past few semesters i've gone in to purchase my books a week early. this gives me 2 benifits. one is if i have to take my kids, i don't have to deal with big crowds. the other is that if the book is horribly overpriced, i can just write down the ISBN and order it online. it has been my experience that if the book is priced over $50 in the school bookstore, i'll save $10-20 ordering it online. under $50 and i just buy it at the bookstore. it's faster.
there's only 2 ways to find out what books i need. one is to go to class and get the syllabus. the other is to go into the bookstore and find it in there.
so i figure today i'll go down and start my book shopping. semester starts next Monday, so today would be a great day to get started and if i had to order any books online, they'd be here by Tuesday next week or so. perfect.
stopped at a buddy's house on the way down to campus and hung out for a while. he called the bookstore to make sure they were open. they said no
then he asked when students can come down and start buying books....SATURDAY.
so what does this mean, you ask? well, since Saturday is the first day we can go in and start finding books and the semester starts on Monday, that leaves no time to order books online. this, my friends, was done on purpose.
me and my buddy are mad as hell about this. it's a fucking rip off. last semester i took an electronics class. the bookstore wanted $115 for the book new, they had no used ones (which if they did would've been $85). i ordered the book online for $70 shipped. since the bookstore was open a week early and i could find out what the book was, i had it the first day of classes.
so yeah, ok, i could just wait, right? well, every semester i end up having 2 classes where i need the book during the first week. with my luck, it will be the outrageously overpriced ones this time. fucking bullshit.
fuck the god damn university.
so i took some aggression out on my rental car
i don't feel any better though. i need to go take out more aggression on the rental car
