now, it seems that a prescedence has been set. a lot of people weren't aware apparently that something of this nature could result in being banned from the site. i'm wondering where this might lead.

civility? make posts about beating animals is senseless and should be considered out of bounds, hows that for a start.

It's because they don't get it bro...the impact "just words" can have. The vulgar has become the norm. Everything is "relative" these days, there seems to be no right or wrong--therefore, if there is no wrong, then why should there be consequences or punishment for one's actions? (rhetorical question)

Anyone who thinks words are harmless should read up on some history. Look at what Hitler accomplished with "mere words."
im not saying you cant take offensive to certain things, but im saying deal with it.

i already addressed that im not speaking from a blind perspective when im saying for people to learn how to ignore things they dont like. if you go back and read my previous posts, i explained how im offended by some of the things i see here, but i am not selfish enough to believe that because something offends me doesnt mean it offends everyone else, or even if it does, that it should be censored and i should be shielded from it.

the whole point of C&C is because you can have real life interactions and conversations, its just the tools of communication are different... (written as opposed to spoken).

i guess i cant fathom how some people can be so insecure and unsure with themselves that one person's comment somewhere can have an effect on them enough to think they should be deleted from life (yes, i consider banning, as the death penalty, killing off a member of elite.)

some kids go crazy when a group of kids surround them and insult them and taunt them. it has a huge impact on them. exotic girl came, everyone surrounded her and hazed her. look at needtogetas....this guy has problems spelling for a damn good reason (im not going to go into it because its his business), yet everyone thinks its funny to SURROUND HIM and make fun of him without thinking of the IMPACT of words. he has noone getting his back, just the entire forum harrasing him, yet noone gets banned?

ulcaster says something with his words, and everyone bashes him and supports the person (mm) he said it to. i highly doubt his comment is going to have an impact on MM's life...he deals with it and life goes on,

weigh this.

-needto and exotic girl- EVERYONE bashing them, no moral support, that an example of words fucking with the mind

-musclemuscle- one person says something to him and everyone gets his back and carries him through it- thats not going to harm him AT ALL.

if we are trying to protect people's feelings and be good and moral, we should ban EVERYONE that makes fun of needto, and exotic girl(since that has a mental impact), not the one person who says a comment that is not supported by anyone (this is an example where words have no impact).

and ivan, i understand your love for dogs, but shame on you...i thought you were a better bro than this.

in no way, bro, do i or did i say that what UD said was ok. i agree with you 100% about people being more decent to one another here. but how is that done?? the mods can't watch every single post.

i understand my posts are long, but anyone who is not willing to read them, is not mature enough to even participate in this discussion or arguement.

as far as i am concerned, if you want to participate and give your opinion, then read and address everyone else's opinion, even if it is lengthy.

Digger...

I appreciate your concern for me. It is great that u do care about the peoples opinions on this board. What ulcasterdropout said did in fact upset me. That is why I spent half an hour trying to rally together some others to bomb him.

Personally, I would never want to be banned. I am glad he has gotten his little "time out". It would not bother me if he came back. It would bother me however if he came back and decided he would use his time back at EF to try to bring me down. If you would like to bring him back that is fine...I would like to see him get a second chance...however if he used his time back to harrass me and bring me down then I would appreciate him being snuffed out permanently.

Thanks again Digger. :)
in this case.

i would appreciate if you snuff out curling or the next person to say anything derogatory, or insulting, steriotypical, or even "mean" about my ethnic or religious background.

thanks again digger. :)

He wasn't sharing his opinion...he was threatening to take my dogs life

He also said "i hate that sick fuck" in a thread about me

It wasn't a matter of opinion it was a matter of being just plain hatefull.

agreed, thats why society (and EF as our society) develops "unwritten" morals which keep us in check. I also don't want him banned, btw.

there is some relentless bullying going on here sometimes. but what is the solution?? it's an individual attitude that can only be dealt with individually. can there be rules that discourage or punish harassment? if there are, i haven't seen them enforced often.

what im saying is nobody should be banned, and i am for a completely relaxed attitude and very minimal moderating.

i just mentioned those instances because ivan was talking about the impact of words. i am trying to say that ulcaster's comment doesnt have a real mental impact, but the joining of many EFers to make fun of needto or exoticgirl DOES have a mental impact, and this is infact viewed through kids being bullied and then going on school shootings
