U.S. brutality

We should remember that, stripped of political spins, the U S. unleashed the greatest war machine the earth has ever seen against a poor soverign nation that was not harming us in any way. We "conquered" them in a matter of days. Since our invasion over 100,000 Iraq citizens have died, 200,000 injuried, their cities bombed, all so we can have their oil at 10 cents on the dollar. When did we become so ruthless and heartless that we are willing to kill tens of thousand of innocent people so our oil supplies and big business profits are assured. This is such a brutal grab of another countries resourses by a superior military power that is hard to believe anyone could support it.

Any type of war will find a lot of admirers. They just like war.

I think the admin really believed that Iraq did have WMD. The CIA did a last minute probe and confirmed that the nuke program was totally kaput in 1993 but they failed to let the admin know this.

The CIA was caught in a cross fire that they couldn't with stand. This admin wanted Iraq.

A lot of experienced CIA have quit in disillusionment. The FBI fired some people who expressed various concerns.

The CIA fucked up and is miserable about it.
The FBI fucked up and is concerned about it.
The admin fucked up and wants to do it again. They say that Iran has nuclear blueprints. No shit....we gave them nuclear blueprints in 2000 so we could "track their progress."

Tough call on what to do. America may recover, it isn't over yet.

At any rate, I think we have exciting times ahead.

Make no mistake though. A lot of guys are thrilled about the idea of killing a lot of Arabs. Or most anything else. You will be called a pussy if you don't endorse the killing. BTW....check your karma. Gambino left his calling card.

I can play devil's advocate, even though I was against the Iraq war. The Gulf War ceasefire was in constant violation by Iraq up until the day the US invaded; The US had a Cassus Bellum for that alone. Also, your casualty estimates are just that and biased. Over the next twenty years what are Saddam's murders and human right violations Vs. those who died during the invasion. Remember, there was an embargo against Iraq because of Saddam the left claimed caused 10k casualties per year by itself. At the end of the day, US policy is one of helping Iraq and the insurgents are the one's causing the problems with transition. If there were no insurgents, Iraq would be on its way to economic prosperity like Japan and Germany before them.
