Tylenol slow muscle growth?

It will do something, but whatever it does is not enough to completely ruin the training that was done. So the best thing to do is pop one before your workout and train your ass off. If you arent on the juice then you really dont have anything to worry about, so get the injury better asap.

Holy hell that has to be the worst piece of advice I have ever heard. The LAST thing you want to do is take an analgesic BEFORE you train; the potential of exacerbating a current injury is huge. Then your training, and gains, would be at a total standstill.

See what I mean about common sense not being so common??!? Fuck!

....what are you talking about dude. It is a damn aspirin. We use that shit in our ECA stacks all the time, and take it three times a day. So I dont know where you are coming from saying that is bad advice.

The amount of ASA used in a ECA stack is minor...325mg. There's pretty much zero analgesic effects from that. In fact, the ASA in ECA is pretty much pointless....but that's a different thread.

What I'm refering to is guys taking higher doses of ibuprofen or acetaminophen (or even strong rx meds) prior to training; you run the risk of re-injury, or worsening a pre-existing injury. I'm sure guys do it with good intentions, but they are just sabotaging their gains.

I dont know how big the aspirins are were you are from but my bottle says 500mg a pill. If anything I would only take two. There is a 1g right there. For the ECA stack, you said 325mg. 325mg three times a day is extremely close to my 1g. So by your calculations, there shouldnt really be any analgesic effects from it either, right?

Actually, I'm just glad that we are able to get a discussion going in this forum. This place has been kinda dead for awhile.

To get into a decent analgesic/anti-inflammatory range for ASA, you need over 975mg as a one-time dose. 325mg is standard tab, 500mg is extra-strength.

While ASA is considered an NSAID, it works on a different mechanism than ibuprofen or acetaminophen. The study the original poster was talking about was based on ibuprofen, which has greater anti-inflammatory action than both ASA or acetaminophen. But this is all beside the point, anyways.

The point still remains: "numbing" an injury prior to working out like is shooting yourself in the foot. You'd be doing more harm than good.

The aspirin in the ECA stack was pointless. It did not have the effects they originally thought. The idea of the aspirin was to thin the blood to carry more fat cells I believe, and that it enhanced the thermogenic aspects of ephedrine.

Your right. Most of the topics have been about which new rip-off products high school kids should spend their parents money on ;)
