Two bodyparts per week or One bodypart per week?

Each bodypart once a week. Heavy (really heavy) everyother week. Works for me and all my clients. Stronger now in my 40's than I was in my 20's. Wished I did this style of training back then when my joints were good. I'd been fucking huge. Better late than never I suppose. Used to do each bodypart twice a week back then. What a waste of time, was always overtrained and too stupid to know better.

O.K. - my bad - but IMO that's still way too many sets!
In fact come to think of it that's fuckin' worse!
Have you never heard of overtraining IMO all you're going to do is absolutely annihilate the muscle - anything more than needs to be done to stimulate growth is counter-productive - IMHO!

Try changing it up. I just moved to a twice a week program.

How many years have you been/will you be doing this? You have plenty of time to try out any and all workout routines that catch your eye.

I decrease the number of sets when I work twice a week though.

Instead of doing 12 sets of bi's and 12 sets of tri's on arm day, I do 8 sets of bi's and 8 sets of tri's twice a week. So my total sets is up to 16 sets for bi's and 16 sets for tri's each week, rather than 12 sets for each... but I think hitting two days of 12, for a total of 24 sets for bi's and 24 sets for tri's, would be too much.

My opinion. If it works... great... if I don't see that much change... shit... I'll try something else.

I have plenty of time. I'll only be doing this for another 30 or so years.

I don't see how you could have the needed intensity for real growth with the number of sets and hitting each bodypart twice a week, especially with no gear. If it works for you, go for it, but me, I'd just hit it as hard as you can, alllowing for full recuperation, once a week y nada mas.

one should find out what works best for one.

But when on roids, let's ay for 8 weeks and doing each bodypart once a week, then that bodypart gets 8 workouts. Sure this can be enough, but when training them twice a week, maybe you gain more.
This is interesting to find out, especially for guys doing only 1 or 2 cycles a year.
 
That split looks like the one I used to use when I first started. I gained quite a bit from it but after the first 3 months started getting overtrained. Like everyone's been saying- if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'd change it up a bit every 2 weeks or so, rotating exercises, rep schemes, number of sets, number of exercises...BTW how the hell do you do 25-30 sets for bi's? Damn, I work 15 working sets for chest which is a bigger group and feel it's almost too much.
 
my chest is destroyed after 12 sets but with bis I cant feel the muscle being worked as welll, i think its because i concentrate on my elbow pain more, lol
