I wish we could clone Ronald Regan and download his soul into his new body and elect him again... :(

seriously? you know he started the deficit spending trend right? I'm not saying that every other administration after him didn't ride that wagon out but gimme a fucking break. And everytime I bring that issue up some conservative say's "well he had the rooskies to beat so he had to". Ok, whatever the reasoning is...he spent money we didn't have. Alot of it. And the govt has NEVER looked back cause Reagan showed that they can loot this countries future for immediate gains AND GET THE FUCK AWAY WITH IT. If you wanna clone anyone, grow a Ron Paul and accelerate his growth to about middle age, 40ish to 50ish tops. That's the ngr we need, not another Reagan fgt who's point to some people on teh planet and say "we need to take those ngr's out so everyone look the other way while I take out a couple credit cards on your children and grand childrens future".

Um. Regan didn't push for trade unions with foriegn countries that gut American jobs and the GDP like Clinton did. So at reasonable tax rates with a strong economy America could pay its bills. The government lived within its means. Democrats and modern republicans spend morbid amounts of money which they borrow. Democrats on foriegn aid and "entitlements" and republicans on military contracts and spending.

Regans economic model worked fine in a stronger more energy independent economy designed around American manufacturing jobs and exports. Thanks to the WTO we import almost everything

You're right about his successors abusing the system. But with an america first mentality it worked beautifully. It was never intended to be used the way its being used now.

If the borrowed money stays in the US to unvest in the US, is invested in domestic recources and american jobs where it turns a profit and gets payed back with interest there's no problem.

Well we shook down the "rich" like Barry wanted and it funded 6.4 days of deficit spending. That money ran out around noon today (1/7/13).

Next...

1) The middle class and lower class can begin paying their fair share. (will never happen)

2) We control our spending (will never happen)

3) We begin selling off assets.

I personally like (3). If we want to keep spending let's put some high profile properties up on the auction block.

People from every economic class got richer under Reagan.

You can bitch about his spending, but it made everyone richer. Barry is spending five times what Ronnie spent and making everyone poorer.

Yeah cause Obama is coming in on the backend. Had he been president 20-30 years ago he'd be fine. It's a bubble dude and you know this full well you're just a professional troll for one side of a pre rendered boiler plate narrative. Obama just came in on the wrong end of the bubble. And if the U.S were never the worlds reserve currency? Reagan wouldn't have done shit!! Of course "some" people got richer under Reagan, it was the start of the bubble. The problem was and always has been that no administration after Reagan ever wanted to come in and say hey folks, we have to contract a lil here. There always HAD to be an expansion of the standard of living at all costs because that's what american people had come to expect..except no one told them it was a bubble that would arbitrarily pop at some point in the future. But hey, YOLO right? So they said fuck it and let it slide. Let the next generation figure things out, they'll be smart.....right? Yeah right, those kids playing 10 hours of Call of Duty every day...they'll get right on that.

No, Reagans model never "worked fine". It was predicated on the ability of the U.S to print the worlds reserve currency. There's nothing "special" to that. A monkey could have come up with that. Reagan knew he'd be long gone by the time the bubble popped so he didn't give a fuck. He wanted his "legacy" of beating the Rooskies by, wait for it, outspending them with the worlds best printing press. That's not "sound" economic policy there mate...not in the slightest.

Reagan inherited the Carter mess. No president since then has faced a greater cleanup challenge. Barry's mess will be much worse than Carter's, but that is a problem for 2016.

I like the posts where you are so wrong and so confident at the same time. Those are my favorite.

ahh ic what you did there, ur parroting the Dems claim that Obama inherited Bushie's mess. So in essence ur adding absolutely nothing of any value. Carter was a mess, I grant you that....but that had nothing at all to do with why Reagan started deficit spending trend. It is and was exactly as I have previously stated, simply the start of a bubble that made everybody feel good. This is the collapse of that bubble. All the non keynsian economists agree. This is what Paul and the Libertarians have been talking about for decades. This isn't straight of my desk, this is not simply my opinion. These are the conclusions of free thinking men who have spent decades studying Fiat currency. If you're gonna claim you know better than men like Paul, hey fine...then go to the Mises forums and sign up under the name plunkey and lets see you debate those guys.

$15 a pack? Its even worse considering Canadian cigs taste and smell like burning brush.

Lol so funny you said that cause a bunch of us were talking bout american smokes tasting like crap but you guys must be used to them so you don't notice. I don't think I've met one person from here that likes American smokes, they must be weak like your beer 
