triiodothyronine (T3) conversion

I have read many posts that discuss this topic along with using clenbuterol. Many claim to increase consumption of the AA Taurine, for fear clenbuterol will depleat it, thus stoping the converstion of T4 to the more active T3. Can someone please reference this? I have never read this in any text or journal before. Are you sure the AA should not be Tyrosine?
I was always under the idea that monoiodotyrosine and diiodotyrosine coupled for T3.
Also as far as the chemical compostion Taurine is not one of the Aminos that make up this hormone.

Im gonna give this a shot here..let me know if I answered your questions.

I know GH decreases thyroid hormone activity by inhibiting the conversion of T-4 to T-3...leading to low muscle protein synthesis and slow growth.
many athletes have low levels of phenylalanine, tyrosine and iodine. the body uses the enzyme phenylalanine-hydroxylase to convert phenylalanine into tyrosine. PKU is the lack of that enzyme. that leads to excess uncontrolled phenylalanine, insuffiecient available tyrosine for the production of catecholamine nuerotransmitters from L-Dopa to adrenaline. PKU also prevents tyrosine from reaching the thyroid gland. ...sorry for rambling...point is tyrosine is the amino acid part of thyroxin and iodine is the cofactor which allows it to be manufactured
I think its safe to say supplementing with tyrosine and phenylalanine would be wise during T-3 use

anyhow i know clen works synergistically with GH in an anti-catabolic sense(since it supresses natural insulin release) .
as far as the taurine thing goes..my best guess is that since clen dilates blood vessels in skeltal muscles but relaxes smooth muscle blood vessels, the reactions are similar to epinephrine which can effect heart rate. This in turn reduces the amount of taurine in the heart since taurine is reposnsible for stabilizing cardiac rythms.

Thanks for steppin' up to the plate Wulfgar. I follow your first paragraph exactly. Still lost about Taurine and T4 to T3 conversion pathways. Just busted out a old text labeled "The Thyroid, A Fundamental and Clinical Text". I guess I go some homework to do.
