Training with a cold

I had really awesome workouts on tuesday & wednesday of this week - back, chest, & tri's.

Yesterday was my leg day, and today is bi's & shoulders. I missed yesterday because I've contracted this awful sinus head cold - i've slept terrible the last couple of night, have little appetite and just feel all around crappy.

Question: Better to rest up and try to shake this or suck it up and do legs, bi's & shoulders today after work?

I feel guilty not getting my workouts in....but I'm not sure how productive they'll be with this damn cold.

I usually end up lifting when I'm sick. Afterwards, I usually feel better.

i lift no matter how i feel. i just adjust my workout some if i really need to. you have to listen to what your body is telling you. usually when i get sick its becuase ive been training too hard and need to take it easy for a few days.

i usually deal with sickness fairly well - it doesn't really slow me down.

but, my lack of appetite is what's concerning me, since that rarely ever happens... :) combine that with a lack of sleep, and it's making me feel really weak.

SHAK - i posted a similar thread a few weeks ago. b fold gaev some good advice - if youre sick from the neck up, train, if youre sick from the neck down (aka your lungs are infected) then rest. i would say that if you have a head cold or something, just medicate yourself with some OTC non drowsy meds and hit the gym but be prepared to not having AS MUCH energy as normal. but you should be ok if you listen to your body.
i recently had a bad case of bronchitis which would have turned into pneumonia if i hadent rested. i took 9 days off from training and im glad i did. but if i had a head cold or sinus problems, i would train thru it. usually makes me feel better.

thanks smurfy...i just bought some OTC sinus medication this morning.

i am going to force myself through it....it's friday, so i can use the weekend to recover.

lol. try not to force yourself too hard. i have had days where i dont feel up to par and left the workout early. do what you can do. at least you know you were there and put forth the effort :)

hope you feel better soon...
