Training - Does your body become trained?

Quick training question. If one trained themself to misery (as I have) and lost considerable weight using low weight (mainly because they are skin and bones), once the calories are cranked, will the weights in the gym get lighter and lighter allowing one to increase the poundage? Assuming one stick to the big compound lifts, how does this work? Why do some physiques never changge? How do I get my joints to be able to support the mass loads? Day byh day I suppose...keeping adding 5lbs etc and you will grow?

I'm sort of confused by the nature of your question. Are you referring to how muscles grow? If so, basically what happens is lifting wieghts causes microtrauma (tiny rips) in your muscles. Your body then responds by repairing this tissue using protein (amino acids) and adds more muscle cells in anticipation of another exercise bout. Thus you can lift more weight after. Of course you need to have ample amino acids/calories for this to occur. When this isn't the case you see a physique that never changes.

My apologies to the more advance science folk if I butchered any of the science, but that is my basic understanding of it.

You don't want to be using the same weights each week, expecting them to get lighter and lighter. Lifting the same weights each week won't give your body any reason to adapt and grow.

You want to progressively add weight to the bar each week (same sets and reps). This means starting with weights you can easily lift in week 1 and adding to that for as long as you can. The continuously increasing weights, i.e. the progression, will cause you to adapt and get stronger. And if you eat enough, you'll get bigger too.

so if you keep increasing the weight and keep slamming the cls yur body has no other choice than to gain muscle....on a high caloric clean diet.....fat isnt an option....its mass?

If you ate 10,000 ultra clean cals every day, you'd put on fat. Can you see that? Think about it.

Clean doesn't mean you won't put on fat. Clean means healthy. So long as you've got enough protein in your diet and your training is good (i.e. you're getting stronger), you will put on muscle whatever else you eat. You just need to eat enough to support putting on some muscle without eating so much that you also put on lots of fat.

It's not complicated. You don't need to micromanage things. Cutting at a low bodyfat is a different matter, but when you're bulking, just eat.

What dictates gaining or losing fat??

Losing:

calories burned > cals eaten

Bulking:

Calories burned < calories eaten

While it is true that certain macros make a difference in how your body responds....when you eat 2x maintenance calories - you will gain some fat.

Period

you need to rest to grow.

you dont grow while lifiing

stimualte your muscles the right way, then let them rest and nurish them, they will get bigger.

theres really no other option

now, how big they get and how fast that happens, is not in your control

I will keep the diet of my trainer but look to u guys for the strength....he's say the diet at 4,000 clean cals with two cheat meals a week is strictly on point, timed perfectly etc...the rest is up to me. this whole thing about bodybuilders eating clean during bulking:
have you seen ronnie's vid? they show him eating his breakfast - starts off with this huge plate of fries...

question: how do the clean eating 'bodybuilder' types explain that?
answer: he's bulking and will eat anything in sight to crank up cals (plus lift heavy). he will later diet off the excess fat... nothing too complicated.

Except he's on growth, insulin, test, and a boat load of others which helps him keep the fat down (although he does get large)....if I tried to fo that will my low test levels, Id be a balloon....I have trouble eating 4 cps of oats a day yet alone gettn dirty.

sure he is... and it makes him huger/more ripped... but what he's doing by way of working out and eating is pretty basic and what has been known to work even for natty lifters.
