I was embarking on a comeback into the powerlifting world. I didn't think it would be possible because of old injuries, but I have been able to train heavy lately. I took second in the national collegiate championships several years ago and haven't competed since. I turn 40 next year and I'm sitting near the top in the bench press for my weight and age. Today I was attempting 400 on a pause and when I came up, my right pec tendon ripped to shreds. Sounded like velcro tearing. I'll be out for a good while, guess it wasn't meant to be.
