Too much protein???

I've been hearing that eating too much protein can be bad for you and that ~100 grams/day is enough but i've also been hearing that i should eat aroung 2g/lb of bw? Which one would be most healthy?
 
depends on your goals I am on a cut right now and am taking in about 1.2-1.5 g/lb on a bulk some people go as high as 2 or 2.5 grams!

ill get flamed but i dont ever have more than 1g/lb

I honestly think its a way for you to spend more money on supplements like whey protein and such. BUT if you are not growing, then I would add protein for sure, along with carbs and fat.

Since your question is about health, that is something only you can know if u take blood tests. I think the only thing it would affect are your kidneys, honestly 200g is not gonna be bad for you at all. PPL do it all the time and they are fine. I wouldnt worry about it. But i wouldnt say that you NEED 2g/lb to GROW. Thats bullshit
 
You absolutely don't need 2g per lb of body weight. Even the most elite athletes with the highest protein requirements only need 1g per Kg.
 
Check your diet first if you feel you are protien deficent for the cut I am running I take two MAYBE 3 scoops of whey a day the rest of my protien 212 g's which is 1.2 or so g's/lb comes naturally from my diet

I couldn't agree more. Muscles can grow on 1g/lb.
