Tightness in chest - Had some tests - Anyone know WTF

black sheep

Banned
Okay - I have had a pain in my chest for a few months now. At least 4. It is on the left inside of the pec. It is somewhat of a tightness between both pecs and it usually on the left side. It is usually 99% of the time on the left side and it sometimes a burning sensation.

Here are some facts -

Chest workout does not change it.
Heavy Cardio does not change it
EKG came back perfect
Chest X-Ray came back clear
Taking a deep breath increases pressure
This is more of a discomfort than a pain - it soes not "hurt"

The doctor thinks it might be the muscles between the ribs. He said he is confident that it is not heart related, but he does not know about the AAS. I am seeing him again in the morning and I am trying to decide if I should tell him. I would prefer not to.

Any input?

Damn, i had the same problem and still do.........

But even for tryglycerides and cholesterol i am on the lower side of normal, my doc says that i'm in the best shape ever and that i dont need to worry about fatty foods, and that im paranoid and obsessing....

But the pain sometimes is very quick and sharp but it lasts only a sec, and after that its the same feelings that blacksheep described.....

I did EKG, Stress Test
Ultrasound or something like that....

And when i wasnt satisfied he sent me to have this test done, i dont know the name of it.............they inject me with a drug to lower my hearbeats under 50 BPM then they injected me with some dye and then scan it to see whats going on with arteries and veins around the heart........and to find nothing.....

But im still a bit of a pussy as i've had this thing bothering me for a year to start up another cycle....

So doing cardio, eating healthier.......quit smoking and drinking......still there (the pain) but hopefully i get rid of it soon....

My guess would be a strained muscle, like your doctor thinks. I believe he is speaking of the intercostal muscles, those run between your ribs and if you take a deep breath they aid in expanding your rib cage. So if it has some pain mostly when you breathe real deep, that would explain it.

could be from elevated heart rate...i got a kinda sore feeling in my chest sometimes too when im on a heavy cycle...id see a cardiologist..for sure though...

I have had the same problem since i got a surgery done for gyno.earlier when i had gyno other than smal clots behind nipples everything was fine...no pain or soreness in nipples...now its almost more than an year the clots are gone but the nipples are still very sore and hurts and also have the same "pain in left pec" problem as describeb above....its not pain but discomfort...i am always scared that its the gynae comming back(stupid of me)and that scares the shit out of me and to stop estrogen i have nolvadex 20mg tablets to phsycologically ease me.....even i am not able to counter the problem brother

I get the same thing. Doc says it's from overtraining cardio and it's strained chest muscles and nothing to worry about if the discomfort is tolerable. I kept up with some pretty intense crosstraining/stair runs from when I played football that leave my lungs burning and my chest pumping like a jackhammer. Sometimes later that night or the next day it doesn't really "hurt" but if I take a really deep breath sometimes its like a sharp pinch.
