Think this will be overtraining?

JG1

New member
Well, about to start my cutting cycle next week which will consist of the following:

Testoviron Depot......250mg/week 1-8
Virormone Prop........100mg/EOD 1-8
Zambon winny..........50mg/day 5-10
Liquidex............ 1mg/ED

NYC stack & Clen will be alternated every two weeks as well.

This is my training split:
Tuesday: Chest, Back, & Abs
Thursday: Shoulders & Arms
Saturday: Quads, Hams, & Calves

I will also be doing 1 hour of cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach on my days off....Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.

Is this amount of cardio going to cause me to overtrain? Should I have at least one day a week that I don't do any excersice at all? This has been my training split for a long time, and I've made great gains from it, but I also never really did any cardio before, so I was well rested.

Well, you are going to hate this answer, but there is no way for us to know if that schedule will be "overtraining" for you. It all depends on your body and how it reacts. I like to leave at least one day open to lounge.

One day out of the gym might help a mental burnout as well......

True.

If I have to take a day off from cardio, I'm assuming I should take the day off after my leg workout?

What are your stats now?

JG1,
Give us an idea where your coming from so we can tell you where your going.
thanks

How much cardio.

When i do cardio i walk in the gym, get on the treadmill, speed walk for five minutes. Then i put the incline on 15, speed 5.5 and run for ten minutes. Then speed walk another five. 20 minutes in and out.

The incline makes it great. If i were you spending seven days in the gym.....atleast make the cardio short since your doing it four times a week.

25 years old, 5'8" 226lbs, 15% BF. Been training since I was 15.

BTW, I just bought a treadmill so I can do my cardio at home :)

Well...

Sounds like you should be fine. I've had a bout with overtraining in the past, but it was under severe conditions. I am also wondering if you are preparing for a competition or just summer. If you're getting ready for a comp I'd suggest getting the book "Bodyopus" by "Dan Duchaine". This book may be hard to get a hold of, but it is one every bodybuilder needs in their library! The diet is a little unconventional, but will allow you to even have strength gains in the process.

I had written a much longer elaborated reply last night but I took too long and elite automatically logged me off and when I went to send it, yup, gone! Oh well I learned a lesson. Duchaine says that the fat burning zone of aerobic activity is only 60-65% of your maximum heart rate. To figure your maximum heart rate, subtract your age from 220. During aerobics, your heart rate should be just slightly above half that. Most dieters do aerobics at about 70% or higher, which forces too much reliance on anaerobic energy substrates. The only way to sustain a gigh aerobic workload and still keep your heart rate between 60-65% of maximum is to be tremendously aerobically fit, which youshould accomplish before the diet.

Again if your serious, check out that book!
