Thigh Width

Need some help putting width on my thighs. Have tried several diffrent things, but nothing has worked as well as I would like. Any suggestions would be appreciated?
 
Target the outter sweep and inner thigh I would guess. Barbell squats and Hack squats with a close stance target the outter sweep well and wide stance barbell squats and sume style deadlifts with the feet turned outwards target the inner thigh.

Or do you mean width from a side view?

Naw I mean my legs look like a freaking deer's leg. Big sweeping hamstrings, no width from a front view.
 
What kind of weight are you putting up in the squat? Do you do front squats?
I do front squats maybe twice a month, but not with any consistancy. Tried a new routine yesterday done 500 for 10 405 for 15 and 315 for 30. Was completely blasted . I am only squatting to parallel to keep from engaging my hams any more than necessary. I can squat 600 good and deep for one. Legs are fairly strong, but just not taking on the shape that I had hoped for. Side view is awesome, but the front of them have no width. The muscles are long, which is kinda of odd, because I am only 5'10". I normally do 6 to 8 sets of squats fairly heavy in the 5 to 8 rep range. Leg press, hack squat, leg extensions, seated leg curls, and strait leg deads, on leg day. I stay with 3 sets of 8 on everything but squat.

I should be seeking your advice with those kind of numbers.

Maybe try close stance leg press with your feet low after squats. I would use a higher rep range for these.

I am pretty strong bro, bench and squat wise, always have been a lil better than the average bear. But the bodybuliding part of is all new to me. I am still learning how to make my muscles look like i want them too.
 
I too have the problem with thigh sweep, but am slowly covering it up.

These are certain things which work for me -

single legged leg presses and heavy squats on the lower half alone....(this is a killer)

these two exercises along with hack squats have given me good results.. I do not have a big thighs, but as before people do not complain about my legs being small

Try the lower half squats with heavy load and you will surely love it:evil:

Explain lower half squats, and thanks for your input bro.
 
its mostly genetics, if your legs arent very wide with a 600 pound squat chances are they arent going to get wide. close stance squats and front squats like others said are your best bet imo
