the 'voice'

Tatyana

Elite Mentor
Day one at the Arnie, and the thing that has been freaking me out a bit is how many women have 'the voice'.

You know the one, the raspy, deeper voice that comes with using steroids.

And more than half of them don't even look like they have picked up a dumbell in their entire lives.

Also that you can get a Met-Rx or Muscletech protein bar in just about any gas station or shop, just unbelievable.

They are basically glorified candy bars, so I guess it is not really surprising.

People did find it odd that I turned down free protein bars at the Arnie, they don't fit into my diet at all.

Luckily I am staying at a hotel with a kitchen so I am prepping all my own food.

it was such a let down the day i learned protein bars were shit food. they could at least make them fat-free so you could eat them right after working out, but they dont even give you that

I stopped eating protein bars in 1998 because I paid attention to the label. :)

Snickers bars taste better and have about the same nutritional profile if you exclude the added protein. :)

it's crazy the learnign curve i've had with diet. i used to be such a p.o.s.; as recently as last year i'd eat protein bars right before bed..also i thought getting a chickfila grilled chix sandwich and pouring half a pack of polynesian sauce on it was healthy :(

Well, it is a chicken breast after all...lol.

Yes, there is high fructose inverted corn syrup and fractionated palm oils in most protein bars, which is the WORST combo for messing up your membrane lipids, making you insulin intolerant and therefore, becoming a fattie.

I will be at the Arnie tomorrow as well, look for the girl in the cool dress with big arms who doesn't have 'the face' or 'the voice' and it will probably be me, as I seem to be in the minority.

I will probably be at the MD booth at around 3 as well for the model search thing they are doing.

My buddy wanted me to attend the Arnold with him, I live less than 200 miles North of Columbus but I always attended when I was a student at OSU. I dated a fitness competitor in college that competed at the Arnold, gave me the Met-Rx her sponsor gave to her because she hated the taste. :)

What is the MD Booth, and when is the model search?

I might go tomorrow and get there in the afternoon.

Is it a certain compound that causes the deeper voice? Testosterone? Just curious.

Seriously? What's going on? I don't have any experience with comps, but I thought the Arnold was the preeminent showplace.

I have heard that even anavar, which is meant to be mild, can change a women's voice.

The pros at the Arnie were amazing, and there were some top amateurs.

The women who didn't look like they had picked up a dumbell, but had 'the voice' and the changes to the face, well who knows if they competed or not.

It does demonstrate that steroids by themselves are not going to give anyone the great body, they are just enhancements to diet and training.

Were you in the contest at MD at 3pm?

If so. What color was you bikini?

And, did Jose Conseco hit on you?

There is just so MUCH choice for everything.

TV kinda sucks though, even with all the channels. We get the best of the US programs in the UK, and the programming seems a bit more cohesive.

I didn't enter the MD major distraction comp, although it does seem that wearing pretty and/or funky dresses does seem to cause a distraction in the US.

What's up with the girls either dressing in jeans and T-shirts or like hoochie mamas (learned that one this weekend :) )

I love how many diet sodas you can get, and I am going to have to have someone post me some crystal light.

With the pound so strong, so many things were SO cheap.

Americans love their jeans & t's they think if they spend $200 on jeans then they're "dressed up"

fug them yanks girlfriend and do your thing!

ps. Come to Canada on your way home.
pps. It is not a strong pound but a very weak USD :)
