The original G'nR were the epitomy of rock

Well music is completely dependent on taste. Which is why some people unexplicably like Yanni and Kenny G :). So what I consider good music you'll prolly consider shit and vice versa. Add in the obvious bias and theres no point to that...

and if you can't see why groups such as the Stones, Beatles, Queen, Hendrix, etc. are great rock n roll, well theres nothing I can say really

They were great in their own right (and time span). The other two are largely subjective, although Hendrix was certainly one of the best guitarists of all time.

Uh...I guess? I was under the impression that Hendrix was lauded as one of the greatest rockers and the greatest guitarist of all time? He did hard rock very well (try Voodoo Chile), blues (Red House), and ballads (Castles made of sand).

Queen, as being one of 15 bands ever to sell over 250 million albums, should be up there too I think. Not to mention the fact that Freddie Mercury is the best rock vocalist of all time. Im sure youve already heard Bohemian Rhapsody (named best song of all time) but try Show Must Go On and Under Pressure (my favorite song ever) to hear his amazing vocals.

I can understand that, but don't agree with it. This proves how subjective this thread really is.

I've listened to a dozen or so songs of what is widely considered their best (besides Stairway). It was ok but never jumped out at me as being great rock n roll like many seem to think. I never was like "Damn this is good"

What the hell, list some of what you consider their best and I'll listen more seriously and see if I can relate.

If you want to hear a song with an "epic" sound, I'd definately go for Kashmir by Zeppelin. As a sidenote, I actually don't like a lot of their stuff but that song IMO is their best by far

Edited

Some of the tunes here aren't as memorable as their earlier outings, but it's still a fun album if you take it all in from beginning to end. It ends on the slow blues boiler "Tea For One" which is sort of like a "Since I've Been Loving You Pt II".

Presence is a very guitar-oriented album, there's little if any keyboard work, and Page was in top form, lots of catchy riffs throughout, but most of the songs lack any sort of lyrical hook.

Which songs did Axl Rose use

On which specific recorded songs did Axl use a vocoder and or harmonizer?

Explain how you know or believe that these devices were used to develop, enhance or contsruct Axl's voice?

My other gig is doing FOH and some studio recording, and I want to see if you really know what you are talking about. Perhaps you can clarify your statement.

Not much to explain, he's a skinny white kid from Indiana who learned how to fake a growly vocal style. I don't think it takes any electronic enhancement to get the basic Axl vocal noise. His phrasing sounds like Ethel Mermen.

Seriously, try to imagine Ethel Mermen singing "Welcome To The Jungle", it doesn't take much adjustment to make it fit. Or Axl Rose singing "There's No Business Like Show Business"...
