You ever heard Chevelle live?

I really like them, but I've heard from a few people they are not good live.

Something about the music drowning the lead singer out or something.

I've never been to a heavy show like this. I've seen bands like Tool & Sevendust, but nothing this hardcore.

I'm kinda paranoid about getting into a fight. (and it's a small facility and everyone is on the floor)

Here's the bands playing the first night-

HATEBREED, God Forbid, Evergreen Terrace, Terror, The Acacia Strain & After the Burial

ever heard of those? I haven't besides hatebreed.

Going to celebrate my Brothers birthday and my nephews with about 50 other people at a B.B.Q

I might get a little dirty ;)

God Forbid is an awsome band. The Acacia Strain are pretty brutal, never seen them live though.

God Forbid is fairly popular, not my cup of tea though. There will most likely be a lot of moshing, as that show will attract a lot of hardcore fans. But don't worry, most hardcore fans are about a buck twenty, and they just run around in a small circle flailing their limbs everywhere. Not a ton of moshing at metal shows anymore, as the 3 morons that want to do it usually piss people off to the point they get sucker punched as they run around erratically in their little circle.

Back in my juicing days I would get in the pit. I was drunk and it was fun.
Nowadays I'd probably break a hip or something.

Funny story - me and some buddies were moshing at a small show locally, drunk off our asses. Well my friend who is a nutjob decided to get on the edge of the stage and do the stage dive/hand floating thing.

Now you are suppose to leap onto the crowds arms. He didn't.
To make matters worse his back was facing the crowd.

He leaned back and people just casually moved out of the way. lol, I still crack up picturing him smack the floor as hard as he did.

working a little. . .hangin with the family unit. . .drinking. . .something low carb. . .like jim beam and diet coke. . .

i've been to shows like that, and the pits become pretty well established early on. you don't have to throw down if you don't want to.

as for the chevelle thing, i saw them at my school and the show was decent. nothing special, but definitely not bad

i'm meeting up with 4 of my suitemates from sophomore year this weekend!! one i haven't seen in 3 years, and two of them i haven't seen for a year. not sure what we're doing yet; hopefully magic the gathering and a circle jerk are involved. on monday i'm goin to the beach!!
