ohhh "old skool" from 1992 onwards ok then i can name:
Ja Rule (remember he came out around 1998, with his only good track "Bitch better have my money")
Ice Cube (hey im talking bout the late 90's and onwards)
Mase -
Puffy -
Master P - (only good track he did was "Step to this")
Positive K -
I cant name anyone from the real old skool in the late '70's and 1980's. Remember 1987-1991 was Hiphops "Golden Age"
I'd say Rap was at its peak from 1987-1994, then 98/99 to present has been pretty decent.
1987-1991 - NWA, PE and all that good shit is comin out, Eazy E drops "Eazy Duz It" and NWA breaks up
1992 - "The Chronic" - this album changed Rap forever
1993 - "Doggystyle" - Snoop drops his first solo joint, we also get Warren G's "Regulate", and one of the great masterpieces of rap, "Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers" by the Wu-Tang Clan.
1994-1997 - Rap wasnt at its best. We didnt need that whole Bad Boy 'era' with Mase, Puffy, & Notorius B.I.G. - some pretty wack shit at times. In '97 Wu-Tang released "Wu-Tang Forever" one of rap's best albums.
98-present - It's been a really good era as we're getting more shit from all over the nation. Good variety helps. Tech N9ne is one of the best rappers you'll ever hear, check his shit out. "Chronic 2001" is badass, Dre is the greatest rap producer, straight up. Wu dropped "The W" and "Iron Flag".
I could write more for each time period, but I'm :havoc: right now
