I'd say Rap was at its peak from 1987-1994, then 98/99 to present has been pretty decent.

1987-1991 - NWA, PE and all that good shit is comin out, Eazy E drops "Eazy Duz It" and NWA breaks up
1992 - "The Chronic" - this album changed Rap forever
1993 - "Doggystyle" - Snoop drops his first solo joint, we also get Warren G's "Regulate", and one of the great masterpieces of rap, "Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers" by the Wu-Tang Clan.
1994-1997 - Rap wasnt at its best. We didnt need that whole Bad Boy 'era' with Mase, Puffy, & Notorius B.I.G. - some pretty wack shit at times. In '97 Wu-Tang released "Wu-Tang Forever" one of rap's best albums.
98-present - It's been a really good era as we're getting more shit from all over the nation. Good variety helps. Tech N9ne is one of the best rappers you'll ever hear, check his shit out. "Chronic 2001" is badass, Dre is the greatest rap producer, straight up. Wu dropped "The W" and "Iron Flag".

I could write more for each time period, but I'm :havoc: right now
I dident know any of that.

Wu tang forever was WACK, its got nothing on 36 chambers

DJ Premier is consided to be Hiphops greatest producer and so is Dr Dre, we could go on and on, but Dre gets soooooo much help producing its not funny, "THE CHRONIC" was dopeness..but "2001"????

Wu-Tang Forever
"Triumph", "Reunited", "Visionz", "Bells of War", "As High As Wu-Tang Get", "Impossible" - Thats 6 solid tracks, I'm sure I'm forgetting a few

Chronic 2001:
"Still D.R.E.", "Forgot About Dre", "The Next Episode", "Whats the Difference", "Big Egos", "Some LA Niggaz", "Lets Get High", "Light Speed", "Xxplosive", "The Watcher", "Bang Bang" - ALL SOLID TRACKS. 11 tracks - 'nuff said.

DJ Premier...WTF are you talking about?! Not even Top 5.

2001 was shit ,compared to The Chronic (the ONLY Chronic album)
In 1992 his shit was fresh, but in 1999-2001 his shit was just played out and his sound was just like any other hip-popa of the day.

Dre got help from Yella back in NWA, he got help from Daz and others on Death Row and he got help from Hitman on Aftermath...Notice how on each of these "eras" his whole production style changed...

DJ Premier has to be in the top 3, his music is always fresh, original and HIS OWN...unlike dre.
