well really, who out of todays rappers could match Rakim? Krs? Kool G Rap? maybe Nas,Mos Def, Common, Crooked I (then again most of those guys are 'old skool' by most standards)...

Biggie produced two of the finest works in Hiphop history.

Other: Eminem isnt trying to be NWA, PE, or the Geto Boys. He's got his own thing going, and he isnt a group. He also isnt black, and he's not trying to politic/preach as much as PE. As for those picks, at least you have some taste NWA is great. PE is cool but their style wasnt always the best, and the Geto Boys have a few good songs.

PE are fucking legends they have possibly the best ever Hiphop album in "It takes a nation of millions" and another classic "Fear of a Black Planet".

So rappers or rather emcees that sell millions are the most skilled and complex emcees? So going by that statement you made:

Mc Hammer is better that Rakim because Hammer sold more that 10 million where as Rakim dident get to over 2-3 million.

Vanilla Ice is better that Mos Def because Mos Def never gets multi platnum.

and so on and so on.

Its not about sales its about talent, if it was about sales then Nelly or Ja Rule would be the greatest rappers of all time.

I liked eminem's early shit.

He raps with a weird emotion like defiance or something. And his shit is so outrageous and funny....though often too much like his only motivation is to shock people.

Anyways I'd give 8-mile a C. They could have called it "The Marshall Mathers Story starring Eminem" and it would have been the same. But what's up with him being all loving to his sister and being cool with the gay dude? Serious image massaging there. Also the raps were too few, too tame, and too canned sounding. I know that if Eminem were really in a battle he would come up with some outrageous, off the wall shit that would have people rolling in the aisles and looking dumbfounded with question marks over their heads and shit.

He seriously got OWNED by that chick from Cluless...and then OWNED those other emcees in the last battle!
