I'm not a vocal man by any means on boards - I perfer to read more than anything.
But I'll say this: on all the boards I read regularly where Roberts is a factor, I am consistently disgusted by his unprofessional behaviour and constant self-promotion of his products.
Now, I sympathize with the need to promote one's self and his products - that is business after all; however, I often feel that Roberts gives himself a little bit too much credit at times. I won't dispute the fact that he is knowledgeable on many aspects of steroid use, but insofar as to be an expert on the subject? I am not so unpurturbed of that. I'm not certain where his reputation as a "guru" comes from, though the popular consensus I have ascertained is that he is a self-styled one. In my opinion it takes more than one e-book that is basically a conglomeration of reiterated information stated by a myriad others in the past, in order to be considered a certifiable expert in a field.
Simply taking practical data posted all over the internet and data already provided by the greats like Duchaine, does not make one a certified expert. Beyond steroids purports to educate us on hormones never discussed about ever - including human growth hormone (HGH), Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), Humulin-R Insulin among others. Since when did the above items ever posess a veritable lack of documentation and anecdotal evidence? Granted the other things discussed in his book like MGF are fairly new to the bodybuilding table, very little information is said in the 300 pages that hasn't really been declared previously.
Having an e-book of information previously said doesn't give much credence as to the fact Roberts is a "guru" or "expert". In actuality it can be likened to plagiarism.
In order for work to be considered one's own, one has to expand on ideas already formed and present insightful and ratiocinative theories on how to go beyond what is already known. In my opinion, Beyond Steroids doesn't achieve that and in essence fails to even approach that frontier. And being Robert's only published (I use that term loosely) source of his work (again, I use this term loosely) reveals how ignoble of a "guru" he truly is.
CO-B man, kudos for being one to say what is on the mind of myself and many others.
Roberts, I have nothing more to say about you. In my opinion, your just some kid that found a hobby in jail and decided to make a profit off of it.
Resorting to veiled threats of banning and using your "superior" influence on the boards is just a low blow that cries desperation. The boards were made for a free-flow of infromation and provocative thought. Stifling others when they disagree with you is a tyrannical form of resistance.
And if you truly and sincerely consider yourself a respectible, credible, mature and professional expert in the field of Anabolic Steroids you would not have the need to argue excessively and defend yourself against CO-B man or the multitudinous other detractors of yours out there.
You would let your actions and your work speak for yourself. Perhaps, however, in your case, your actions alone aren't enough to save you from the menacing abyss that threatens to engulf you.
