injection next Wed. haven't made an appointment with the doc yet cause I am at the Masters for 10 days and out of my mind busy.
eat big said:Well?
Pretty much what it has been for the last few months - 2 body parts per day, lots of light compound movements jsut aimed at getting my back into the swing of things. Slow but gradual weight increase. Lots of body weight core work and stretching.eat big said:What's your weight training going to look like?
KillahBee said:Tues, Apr 18:
Was supposed to do legs yesterday but decided to wait another week til I feel 100% post-injection. Did about 8-10 miles this morning on the bike, felt a bit tight towards the end. Saw the doc today for a follow-up and we're both looking for much improvement in the enxt 2-3months.
So the name of the game is consistent rehab/strengthening for the summer.
eat big said:You do the upright or reclining bike?
KillahBee said:Sun, 4/23:
30 minutes treadmill, Sp3, Incl4.5
light stretching and real light core work
Jdevlin1985 said:I'm guessing you must be one lean ass MF right now.
KillahBee said:Was getting there, but put on some fatty fatness when I was out of the gym and basically immobile the last 2 months or so.
but with the limited work I can do, leanness is the name of the game for the enxt few months. which is fine for a bit - the girls like abs I'm told.
Jdevlin1985 said:What are your stats at present?
KillahBee said:I have no friggin clue. Somewhere around:
5'11" / 6' (haven't checked my height in years and years)
175-180
BF = 13%
I have no clue on the BF to be honest.
Jdevlin1985 said:Ok i'm thinking, just slightly above average build, tad bit of fatty fatness on the ass and belly region, maybe holding a shit load of water. Can only go by what you've told me, but dude, thats not bad considering. Nothing adding in a tidy diet won't take care of.
KillahBee said:Pretty much sums it up. Haven't been training that long (relatively speaking) and in that short time have torn my RC (out of the gym of about 10 months on that one) and have an extruding disc (just getting back to the gym now after about a year off). But it'll all come around with some hard work and persistence.

Sun, 4/30:
Did 30 minutes on treadmill yesterday, then light stretching and core work.
Did about 8 miles on the bike outside today.
gonna try to start light weights tomorrow
I'll have a new 1 in a few days, well after Saturday Miss24k said:Don't make me come over there!!!!!!
KillahBee said:Miss24k - you coming over here with a whip is only going to inspire me to NOT work out ever! tee hee
Scots - where the hell do you get off hitting on young ladies in MY journal?!!!
Update:
Been in a rut for a few weeks. Just lost all motivation, depressed with the thought of a long road back to recovery and perhaps not making any progress over the enxt few months. sat back and cried about it. but now it's time to do something about it. all I can do is work at it and hope for the best.
Rode about 5 miles today. Gym tomorrow morning. gonna try some very light weights

Sorry sweets, I was on vacation, which also included a break from EF, I just got back about an hour ago. Good to see you're back at it again.

KillahBee said:Thanks peeps, appreciate it. Back is not good at all, no matter what I do. Scheduled to see my doc in 2 weeks. Then I suspect I'll need to go see a specialist in NYC about surgery. Fantastic
Fri, 6.16:
ran 2 miles
eat big said:I don't know your exact situation but I would've gotten it done a while ago cause I can't live without the gym.
KillahBee said:Unfortunately, it's never that simple. An extruding disc is a tough injury that can literally take years to get over (without surgery). I had no choice but to give everything out there a shot, short of surgery. I DO NOT want to be having back surgery at 26yo.

Ran around a track I found today. What's 4 laps around your avg highschool football field track? a mile? well that's what I did.
KillahBee said:thanks, scots. appreciate it brother. any comps comin up for you?
was tired and uninspired today. been working my ass off (possibly the worst month of the year for me I think), have to travel fri-mon to cali, then head straight to charlotte mon-thurs. then move apartments saturday.
EDIT: this doesn't give me an excuse to not train , tho....
Miss24k said:Why are you slacking so much?
Is your back ok?

KillahBee said:Hey Boo!
lol, I haven't been slacking (too much), just haven't been updating the log. I moved and haven't had Inet access for a couple weeks.
Been running often (I have no idea why!). 1.5 miles yesterday and 2 today.
Anyway, had an appt with the back specialist for Mon but had to move it to the next Mon (17th) cause I have a big client meeting this Mon. my doc told me that he thinks I should see the specialist but still is not sure surgery is the way to go. he explained that these injuries can take like 3 years to fully heal. UNREAL

Miss24k said:Oh ok I was wondering what was going on with you, but you have a good explanation
Wow 3 years that's crazy, well you do what is best for you hun, what do you think about the surgery?
Keep your head up, I know you're a tough cookie![]()

I've been running a lot the last week or so. Going to the doc tomorrow - a back surgery specialist. We'll see what he says. I need to know the details before I make any decision. But man, this shit has to end.
