The Change Is Imminent...

Silent Method

New member
I come from athletic background. "Bodybuilding" for the pure sake of size and form without regard for further aspects of athletic performance is relatively new to me. I have struggled with this concept.

Recently an endeavor has begun which shall once again give me the opportunity to compete in the sport of gladiators, the sport that I love. I cannot express the depth of my delight.

I vow this before all of you: I will cultivate my body to meet the fullness of my athletic potential. I will demonstrate that the full magnificence of the human form is best realized through the development of elite function.

I assume by Gladiator, means to fight with swords, spears, and nets in a giant arena, to the death.

LMFAO

Silent Method is an artisan of the martial arts... that's what he means by the sport of gladiators.

What style do you practice?

What cycles do you like using for that purpose?

Just trying to get some more ideas and feedback from other marial artitsts.

Thanks

Waiting patiently for the knowledge. :)

LOL Wrestling boys, wrestling.

Wrestling is the martial sport in which I have the most background. I practice Ju-Jitsu and Judo when time allows (which isn't often). I have some exposure to others as well. (I feel my spirit lies with Aikido, but as of yet there are no schools in my area.) However, serious competition in these sports is nil in my area. Thus, my practice of both is little more than a leisure activity.

Wrestling is the ultimate combat sport. The prospect of competing once again with high-end competitors, a prospect that I had though I'd never again face, stirs emotion I cannot describe.

I'm an old wrestler and all my sons wrestle. My oldest son is a NCAA D1a All-American (top eight in the nation in his weight class). I'd be happy to send you his school's wrestling-specific strength program if you would like.
The great truth in wrestling is that if two combatants are equal in skill and stamina......the strongest will win.
BTW....my sons get drug tested regularly. Are you going natural?

ironmaster, no shit! You must be proud of your boys! I'll shoot you a PM. I'd love to take a peek at their program. :)

At this time the team will not be sanctioned - we will wrestle other unsanctioned teams as well as sacntioned teams in exhibition only. Drug testing will not be an issue. However, I'm still stuck trying to plan my next cycle!

I have sent for a scan of the training program and will get it out to those who are interested asap.

Silent, that's cool. We go to many "open" freestyle and folkstyle and greco tourneys in the off-season. Up until a few years ago I still wrestled in some of those with pretty good success. It's a real ego blow to these young guys when a 50 year-old man sticks them. However, if I don't get the job done in the first period, I'm cooked.

My youngest son, who is 13, already has over 300 wins.......I think he'll be ok when he hits high school.
