Testing Every Month

Keep Left

New member
Hello,

I just had a tryout on Sunday(it was bloody freezing and blowing a gale) to do sprint training and agility stuff for American Football.

Now I am being asked to goto another two testing days for a different reason, both are within 1 month.

Do you think its good to test each month to see your progress? i.e. strenght, speed and agility

Or would it put too much strain on my body to keep up my training?

Cheers

you wont see a whole lot of difference in 1 month in strength and agility, but you endurance can change drastically in 1 month. back in the beginning of 03 when i went on the atkins diet to dump some long stagnant fat, i started running which i had never done on a daily basis before. i went from being winded after a 1/4 mile, to running 2 miles with barely breaking a sweat in 70 degree weather in about 3 weeks. just depends on how dedicated you are.

Im not really an endurance person i play american football, its an interval sport so you probably wouldnt notice if i was fit or not.

I just wanted an excuse really as to why not to go. I get depressed when i test badly and there really isnt a big reason behind doing the tests other than to have the results.

then just dont go. you wont see enough gains to get stoked that often, so you would constantly get depressed, which would affect your overall training. not worth it.
