Tearing skin.....

I've been working the top half of my deadlift out of the rack at knee height.....which allows me to pull more weight. Everytime I do this I always rip off my calluses on my hands and get graze marks across my palms (I'm pulling about 680lb now....which doesnt seem alot compared to what I've seen some do).....this is a little undesirable as I work in a lab hygiene is important, not to mention I keep leaving blood and plasma or sales reps hands lol.

Is there any way to avoid this? Or am I stuck with it?

I have suffered the same...tearing up my hands. Last week I bought some gym chalk....I love it...I didn't tear up my hands at all...it's really cheap too

good luck.......680 thats awesome!!!!!!

Yeah I use chalk too. Maybe I just need to grip the bar harder......I'm sure its the bar slipping small distances that causes it with me.

thats disgusting

i wish mine looked like that

Dude, first you have let them heal. Then, keep them file down, trim them with nail clippers. Thta's the only way to stop them from tearing.

I did not have any before I did my set shown in the above pic. It just ripped them off....it was cool seeing the blood run through the chalk on my hands....loved it.

Notice: No belt or straps.
