Teacher and Students think Bodybuilding is unhealthy

I hear you bro...I'm talking from what I've seen or done myself....with the internet anyone can get tons of juice right to their door...most don't even research them..its sad actually

Thats very true ..... Looking back to the early 80's it was next to impossible to find gear in my community , the guys in the gyms who were juicing sure as hell kept there sources confidential and you needed to do alot of proving of yourself before they would even talk to you .

Today my 14 year old nefew could get anything he wants delivered right to his door ... Oh how the world has changed in 20 short years ..... it's down right dangerous really but i'm sure if the oppertunities were there back in the early 80's i would have used them not having a clue what i was doing . I'm kinda glad the shit was hard to come by till my education level was somewhat on par with the drugs , we made enough mistakes as it was .

At the very least i'm here to help others avoid making the same ....

Another case of being educated beyond their intelligence.......your teacher.

Have the professional educator step up to a squat rack and do 3 or 4 sets of twenty and tell me that isn't a cardio workout in itself.
After they get back from the hospital have em do 35-40 minutes on the cardio machine of their choice at moderate resistance oh, and then have em go lift for an hour or so.....
just ridiculous this is what I pay $350 per week in income taxes to teach our children, as the stupid BITCH stops at Mcdonalds to feed the class lunch on a field trip.........................Why I ought tooooo

BTW : Cardio is for cardio health not for shaping the body , doing cardio has no direct relationship to how heathly you are . What it does is increase the size of the left ventricle in your heart allowing a lower resting heart rate ... once again this is huge to research .

cardio training does have other health benefits, particularly maintaining/restoring insulin sensitivity.

Arnold has his "run and pump" in ohio its on like its 5th year . Ive seen arnold run at the special olympics with the winners during the final lap at the closing . as well at his run and pump I think he even did the new york city marathon like 5 years ago and donated the money for cancer research .
the man truly is more into health and fitness now then any other time of his career. Id like to see him take the fucking soda machines and pizza vendors out of the schools also have actual food to eat not garbage.

The whole discussion around bodybuilding is always skewed because people immediately picture freaky huge vascular tanned up shiny competitors. Not all bodybuilders are competitors for one. The competitive bodybuilding regimen is generally not what I'd consider "healthy" for the typical person. But why is it when people get into that conversation its so easy to dismiss competitive BB as "unhealthy" when the discussion never looks at the typical person. According to statistics 2/3 of the US population is obese- therefore I'd wager that that lifestyle is more destructive because the competitive bodybuilder's approach is a targeted 3-4 month prep period that normally has an off-season whereas these people have no problem considering bariatric surgery a viable option to "lose weight".

Holy fuck - talk about "moral relativism".

But anyway - you can't usually translate a health professional's view of "healthy lifestyle" to what most of us consider "healthy". Somewhere there's a huge disconnect between what we practice and what they preach.

The bodybuilding lifestyle(diet, training w/ weights, cardio) is quite healthy-but from a competition standpoint, usually the guys that look the best on stage are the ones most likelt to be flirting w/ death(mega dosing roids, insulin, diuretics, etc).

However when you consider the lifestyle of the avg american that smokes, drinks, eats artery clogging foods-they're probably no better off than the competitive juicers they point their finger at. I won't even mention how 50% of Americans are on an RX drug of some kind for depression, anxiety, etc-all of which have negative sides just like roids.

Sassy..I definately agree with your points....my post was more about elite competitors rather than the average Joe...its amazing that the US has the best nutrition,equipment...most gyms and we are still the FATTEST country in the world!!...education is KEY!!!!!
