TB's getting ready for summer log! Using BODYOPUS

Hi! I've been a member for some time but not active. Now I was originally planning to do a fitness contest in May, but due to work and also studying for a finance exam (CFA for you who knows it) I didn't get enough time to prepare! I still want to look great for summer so I started dieting two days ago and thought it might be a good idea to start logging here! I came across Dan Duchaine's BODY OPUS book by chance and I thought it was quite interesting. In the past I've found cycling carb and protein/fats works very well but i'm going to try this scheme for a couple of weeks and see how I feel. Anyone not familiar with it you can say it's a kind of Atkins diet except you have 5days in ketosis then 2days carbo loading. have a look at Lyle McDonalds log: http://low-carb.org/lylemcd/week00.htm if you want more info about it. Guesstimate my current BF% is around 22, and I'm planning to diet for 8weeks and then do a review. I will have two days off-.27th April (client event) and 3rd June (exam!! and PARTY afterwards!). I will post pics and stats shortly.

Saturday so far:
Meal 1 Protein drink, approx 30gram protein
Cardio 75mins (approd 75% of max heart rate)
Meal 2 Protein drink approx 40m gram protein, a few nuts
Meal 3 200 g Chicken breast, 2table spoon MCT oil, salad

Experience so far- I'm not feeling hungry! I think that's a good thing!

Respectfully, BodyOpus is a little outdated. I'm not saying it's horrible; I'm just saying that there has been elaboration that has resulted in improvement.

Please see the carb cycling thread. Sassy's post is in my signature. :)

Be sure not to let this discourage you...just keep researching a little more and most of all....WELCOME! :wavey: :)

I hope you stick with it so the full (possible) potential of this diet can be played out ... very interesting .. and best of luck to you :)

Thanks for all the support guys! Yes I realise I'm a bit of an Elvis with regards to the Bodyopus diet and it being outdated. However after reading the book (Body opus- highly recommended but not for beginners as he is a bit too pro drugs in my opinion) I'm intrigued and giving it a chance!
I've been training for 15 years now and did my first contest prep diet in 1999.. that was basically carb cycling- 2days off 1 day on and it worked great. I was in decent shape with on avg 10% body fat up until about 1yrs ago when I moved back home to Norway and started partying a bit too much! :D

Meal 4: 150g chicken breast
2 Table spoons MCT
Ruccola salat
Few pine nuts

Off to the gym to do some abs and tri's followed by cardio!
This board is so motivating! ;)

VERY cool to hear! I'm sure a lot of people will want to discuss this some more! :)
