Tanning

Time for me to start tanning... I'm starting to feel translucent. I usually wait until February or March to start, but I need it now. I notice that the light really improves my mood during the winter. I think I have to go today.

I definitely try to not tan as much as I used to. Just a little bit over winter and spring... maybe 2x per week to start and then just 1x per week or so to maintain. In the summer I still try to layout by the pool or at the beach as much as possible.

So, I just went tanning and I'm finally warm :D . I've been freezing for days. Of course I almost blew away it's so windy out.

My dermatologist & my plastic surgeon won't let me tan anymore.... :sigh:

I think I am going to try the Mystic Tan this spring..... I LOVE being tan, but I really can't ignore how bad it is for you anymore.... :(

just before Xmas I had my entire body for the first time professionaly aribrushed with the darkest tan they had available - unfotunately it was not cheap

i am very white and do not get suntanned easily but the airbrush tan was amazing, i felt like a new woman... will do it again sometime soon or I will just buy my own spray tan machine...

I've really really been trying hard to not tan and it's hard. I tanned for about 3 weeks before my wedding and a few times before my honeymoon. Otherwise I've laid off of it for a while now. Damn it for being so unhealthy but so nice all at once.

I go tanning about 1x a week during the winter, and 3x week during the summer.

Tanning isnt really bad for you, if you do it in moderation and build your tan gradually....dont overexpose your skin---your skin continues tanning for 24-48 hours after tanning so dont go on consecutive(sp) days. Always Always use eye protection. and use a GOOD tanning lotion to keep your skin moisturized." Remember NEVER EVER sunburn....even if you think well my sunburn always turns to a tan in a few days sunburns are what cause so much skin damage

Most reputible tanning salons will do a skin type analysis for you, not just take your money and put you in a booth for however long YOU want to go...if not there is a website where you can do it yourself to see what your level of exposure should be.

I will try to find that site if anyone is interested in it.

I feel off the pale wagon and put my ass in a bed today..

LOved it

I tried Mystic Tan -- for the price, its ok for a special occasion but I don't see me doing it on a regular basis.

I do it on a regular basis (Most of the time) it's really nice for a few days, but with no base tan my skin starts looking spotty.

What did you think of it?

Skittles do you exfoliate just before just before going? If not do that and use and really good moisturizer between sessions, that should help.

Mystic Tan sells an exfoliater and moisturizer, but a brown sugar scrub will do better and is cheaper.
And I really like Supre Hempz moisturizer....you can get it on ebay for around $10 and will last you a long long time.

I miss tanning :( But since my grandpa was diagnosed with skin cancer last spring, I've stayed away. I did find a good face self tanner (Clinique) that gives my face a little sun--I don't regularly use one everywhere else because it's so darn cold here in the winter that I'm in thick sweaters and stuff all the time anyway!

I tanned last nite and i burnt my boobs.. they are so senstive right now and way too stimulated for work - wanted to share:)

tee hee.. me too

Right now I am the color I want to be.. golden bronze.. not too dark.. not to pale, Now I just need to maintain. ;)

There is a tanning place my training partner goes that gives it to you air brush style going to try that out sometime soon. My tan is all gone hard to believe my Florida trip was 2 months ago :bawling: I know it is bad for you but I still love it.

I started tanning here a couple of weeks ago myself. My boyfriend is taking me with him when he goes to Mexico in March. I need to a good base tan before I go.

I'd be a hypoctrit if I didnt agree that darker skin tones are more attractive but knowing what I do about the damage UV causes to the skin I dont think I'd tan myself purposely if I were caucasian.

In the middle of January it's good to still be olive. :)

Don't fool yourself into thinking that doing it "carefully" makes it safe.

Ask any doctor that specializes in skin cancer.

But yeah, it sucks being see-through, as I currently am. :smash: :) I use a self-tanner on the face, but am still looking at all-over solutions.. Mystic tan = too expensive to maintain, also hard to get on perfectly..
