Tank Abbott from the UFC

Anabolic Booster

Would anyone in here actually have the balls to stand up to this guy if he ever started shit with you?? I honestly think I would crap my pants if this guy ever wanted to tune me in. He's a pitfighter from the UFC just incase anyone was wondering.

The only fighter that I'm 100% confident could take on this beast and win anytime is Royce Gracie. Gracie is the best fighter the octagon has ever seen. He's something like 6', 170 lbs, but size doesn't matter to him. The fucking king of submissions.

Did you guys see when tank knocked out that Hawiian guy. The dude was out cold w/ his arms locked straiht in the air... I forget which ufc it was.. he's bad....

I bet Ken Shamrock would have fucked his world up a coupe of years ago.... maybe now

Gracie is the guy on the right... Don't let his size fool you. He's without a doubt one of the most dangerous fighters in the world. His fighting style is brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Check this out.. A little quote about the master.

His opponents consistently outweighed him by more than 50 pounds. He went on to win 3 UFC titles and today is the only man in the history of no holds barred matches to successfully defeat four opponents in one night.

I think I sort of remember the fight you're talking about. I know Tank has had a few wicked KO's. He is sort of a slow fat dude, but if he catches his opponent with a good punch, it's usually lights out.

vitor belfort whipped his ass. he was a good fighter who never got in shape for his fights. i liked him. he lost more fights than won, but he was good for the sport.

My opinion? It's a pretty lame sport to begin with.

Bunch of fat turds that can't box. "The Guard, put him in an arm bar, Choke him."

Gay.

But, each to his own... no offense to any fanatics out there.

Dan Severyn beat him like a rented mule if you will recall... i'll give him credit tho... he took 15 minutes of the most brutal beating i have ever seen. He's tougher than me for sure... but i still don't have to like him.

tank is one of my personal favorites. i did see him fight the hawiian it was brutal. he doesent have any stamina though.

I'd never go up against that guy. For 1, i'm a big guy, i have no idea how big he is, but I konw that guy can take pain much more than i can. I've seen him get the shit kicked out of him and he still comes back punching. Not the type of guy you want to be facing.

And i agree Gracie is the man! Don't know how he does it, i kept thinking he'd get his ass kicked b/c of how small he is. But the man woops ass.

I believe his UFC record is 8-7.... Vitor Belfort did royally kick his... The fight lasted under a minute I think.

OMG you saw that too!!! He dropped him twice with his fists, then while he was on the ground Belfort got behind him and started raining blows to his head, the ref had to stop the fight because Abott was totally defenseless. It was amazing.

Another great fight Abott was involved in was with my man, Olegg Taktaroff. Olegg is a Sambo fighter, and was giving up a lot of weight to Abott, but he still beat him using a choke move I recall. Great fight.

Many fighters have beaten Tank Abbott, they include the following:

Oleg Taktarov - Submission (Rear Choke)
Dan Severn - Decision
Scott Ferrozzo - Decision
Don Frye - Submission (Rear Choke )
Vitor Belfort - TKO (Strikes)
Maurice Smith - Submission (Strikes)
Pedro Rizzo - KO

And for the record Royce Gracie would kick his ass, and anybody elses

im better looking and have a better body than either of them, and so are most on Elite...so who gives n F...

Sorry I could not resist, welcome to elite:D

i agree, Vitor Belfore was just amazing in the UFC.

UFC is all well and good, but i say the kumite would be better;)

Anybody remember June 6th, 2000? If not I have one word for you.....GOLDBERG :D :D :D I was there....Phillips Arena in Atlanta......Goldberg's first match after being out for like 4 months.....whooped his ass.:D

waddabout the japanese guy that fought gracie in japan? gracie's corner threw in the towel after like 12 rounds or something...

Yeah, that was an awesome match. Kazushi Sakuraba is his name, it was Gracies second match in about 5 years, it's been argued that Gracie's past his prime.

Still, Sakuraba is a great an dynamic fighter...

We're talking real fighting here, not dodgy World Champ Wrestling or whatever the hell it's called

Have any of you guys seen something called "Pride Fighting" or similar on Satellite Pay Per View? That shit is almost better than UFC. Check it out if you can.

Forgive my ignorance if I missed some amazing Gracie battle but in all of his fights that I saw I wouldn't quite call him an ass kicker. He's a great submission wrestler and can break joints and all that but when I think of ass kicking I think of someone bleeding and being physically dominated. Gracie uses his guard and minimal energy to win, he's a scientific fighter. I personally think that perhaps more aggressive types make for better TV but Gracies record speaks for itself.

A arguement can definitely be made for Royce being past his prime in NHB. He lost is sport Jiujitsu to Wallid Ismial a few years ago, and could do a thing against Sakuraba in Pride. Even though the Gracie camp essentially set the rules for that fight.

With the current crop of NHB fighters outthere I think quite a few of them could beat Royce.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Gracie fan. He is the guy that got me interested in this stuff.

Milhouse - Is that Bastion Booger in your Avatar? Ah the "glory" days of the WWF....

you guys are a little behind

royce was the king 8 years ago. sakuraba, a japanese guy, beat royce, renzo, and royler in pride. silva beat sak. silva is the man right now. in the heavyweights, igor is the man. he fought in the pride thats on directtv so i dont want to say what happens. pride is a hardcore sport though.

I started fighting for the Gracies in "94" and I will agree with most of the posts here, I think Royce Gracie's best days are behind him. As for the other losses posted here by Immortal juicer about Royces losses......true.......true.......but I guarantee you will NEVER see RICKSON Gracie post a loss!!!!!!

Do NOT confuse Ricksons Jui Jitsu with his brother Royces fighting.
Rickson is "JACKED" and ripped, and MEAN!!!

I agree that you will probably never see Rickson post a loss, but I think that is more due to the fact that he realistically won't fight too many more times and if he does it won't be against the best the sport has to offer.

Rickson has incredible Jiujitsu skills, but limited standup and his takedown skills are seriously lacking. The high tackle that was effective 5 years ago, probably won't work against todays crop of fighters.

I always liken Rickson to a steroid version of Royce, with a really bad attitude.

I loved watching him fight, but like his brother, I just don't think he competes on the same level as todays top NHBers

Although I wouldn't mind seeing him get in the ring with Tito Ortiz or Frank Shamrock.

I'm just really stoked to see some guys into NHB on this board.
Gracie Barra here for those who know...

Rickson IS GREAT at takedowns.
He's patient and cautious. He's supposedly won 400 fights... and since he's not really trained to win a fight standing, he had to beat the majority of them on the ground... that means he's executed TONS of takedowns that helped him win the fight.

And I disagree... the "tackle" will always work. A clinch takes away the striker's tools to win the fight. Doesn't matter if it takes you 5 minutes to get the guy down. Once he's down. He's done. (if you're Rickson) The single leg, the double leg, the clinch --- three timeless takedowns. If you're an athletic specimen like Rickson though, I guess it helps too.

But I will agree on one thing. Rickson needs to retire with a bang for the fans. ALL OR NONE. Basically, if he loses ONE fight he's going to lose "legend" status. So I say RICKSON vs. SAKURABA in a retirement match!

As for TITO or FRANK vs Rickson... i think they would also be great matches. But I KNOW for sure that RICKSON is a FAR better submission wrestler. I train at the same gym as Tito, Dan Henderson, Chuck Liddel, Fabiano Iha and a bunch of other top guys and they are much more explosive and diverse fighters but RICKSON has every guy in the world beat on TECH! and that only gets beter with age.

Tito vs. Vitor (if it ever actually happens) is going to be a GREAT fight. Vitor has hands as fast as any legendary boxer. Its hard to belive until you see it. See Vitor vs Vanderlei

Royce... a role model for MILLIONS of fighters. But sadly, past his prime.

the most influential people in the history of martial arts are bruce lee royce gracie. royce and rorion brought grappling to america and revolutionized martial arts. they also brought the aura of an undefeatable family, which was true for a while. now its not. the gracies are very defeatable. i doubt any of them could defeat silve, frank s, tito, vitor, or any of the top heavyweights.

i doubt any of the gracies will ever fight a worthy opponent again. look at who renzo fought in the last pride. wtf? it embarassing that he couldnt finish him in 5 min let alone 30. if rickson was the man like everyone says, he would be jumping at the chance to fight sak for the family name. look at who he has fought. a japanese guy, with balls the size of epcotl, that had been beaten senseless and blinded in his first two fights of the night; and bud smith, some american kickboxer who had no clue about grappling.

dont get me wrong, all the gracies are great fighters but they not the best anymore.
