I always take the following over the counter supplements at a minimum - I usually take a heck of a lot more though:
For my HDL:
Flax, Omega-3 fatty acid 3.6g or each per day
Liver Protection (a must)
NAC: 600mg per day
Milk Thistle: 600-1000 mg per day
Tyler's Liver Detox
Other:
Whey (any brand will do - some are better than others) 150-200g per day
Animal Pak Multi Vitamin
Creatine
1-2 gallons of water per day
I throw in a few other odds and ends. Diet is the key though - I try to get the majority of my protein through chicken, eggs and fish - 350g per day
