Suicide Girls?

I had to wiki it....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_girls
"SuicideGirls is a pin-up website that features softcore photos and text profiles of goth, punk and indie-styled young women (although styles reminiscent of the 1940s and '50s pin-up models are also incorporated) who themselves are known as the "Suicide Girls". The site also functions as an online community with member profiles and message boards, and features interviews with major figures in both popular and alternative culture. "

I know a girl that co-founded the suicide girls group.... and she's in ur video.

She's a really hot goth girl. I hate goth chics, but she is like blonde hottie with this goth twist... really intriguing. Big old club coke / x whore big time.

Just moved to Chi Town from the Lou a few months ago.

I thought this might have been the connection.

"The term 'suicide girl' is credited to a usage by Fight Club author, and Portland resident, Chuck Palahniuk, in his novel Survivor. "

I read the wiki article and I'm out of the loop...they've been featured in many mainstream media sources.
sort of a fringe sub culture, not widely known, but I've seen it mentioned here and there.

yea I only looked into because SoreArms mentioned it here one time

That dude needs to get his ass back on here....

Those girls are hot. Of course I love tattooed and pierced up girls so i am kinda biased. Well hell, I like all kinds of girls lol.

most of these girls think of this as 'art'.

but, in all reality, it is anything but art. it is simply the last resort for a bunch of untalented, failed, emo art students to get the attention their fathers and unemployed boyfriends never gave them.

sure, people will look at your 'artsy' photos, but that is only because you are flashing tits and vagina. and as luck would have it, people will find both tits and vaginas just a little bit more interesting than their shitty portfolios and laughable attempts at avant-garde 'art'/

I don't think *luck* has any relevance as to 'why' people would find certain attributes of the female form interesting...it's pure human nature.

Art is subjective.

I doubt they care what others think.

if they didn't care, they wouldn't be posting heavily airbrushed, naked photos of themselves on the internet.

they love the attention, especially because they never got it elsewhere.

once again, their tits and vaginas are the only parts of them, both in the physical and non-physical sense, people will actually care to see (and potentially pay for it).

do you think their poetry blogs and tired 'art' projects will be met with the same reception as pictures of them spread eagle with a double-ended dildo in hand?

lets be real here.

too bad the same thing doesn't work for men. it would be awesome if i could walk up to random people and be like, 'hey! check out my hard dick! isn't it awesome?!'

I've not been to the site so I'm certainly not going to make a judgement on the marketabilty/economic feasibilty/merit of combining soft core with personal, artistic, and anecdotal aspects. (in the form of blogs/poems/artworks)

Obviously the formula is successful, most of us, at the very least, have *heard* of the Suicide Girls.

I can only assume you're militancy in regards to the morality of such a combination is probably rooted in discovering these girls are actually human. It's much easier to objectify someone if you whittle their existence down to a body part.

i have no moral objections to this, whatsoever. however, i do object to this being done in the name of art. so, you grab a handful of less than mediocre-looking girls, dye their dreadlocks purple and blue, and have them strip down from their halloween-esque clothing while they wax poetic and call that art? please...

what sort of artistic message is this trying to convey? what talent is involved with it?

this is simply a quasi-popular medium for otherwise ugly girls to get attention by being naked while justifying it as an 'artistic venture' rather than 'low-budget pornography'.

Why would you object? You don't determine how one chooses to express themselves and if they decide to call it poopies or art. You can forward your opinion on anything, it doesn't make what one person creates less pertinant.

I don't appreciate Thomas Kincade paintings but I'm not going to pass judgement on his relevance to the history of art unless I want to make a concerted effort to invest in *art*.

Personally, I'm a connoisseur of the velvet Elvis and Dog's Playing Poker genre.

I am a pretty clean cut guy. But, I get a lot of girls that look like that who are into wicca hit on me.

She might be the organizer of this performance group, but that is not the originator of the SG website.

She is the mesiah of SG....

Period.

Also, I fucked her...

I have a family memeber on that website......and I am embarrassed for her..she was a good girl....at one time....

I could think of a few choice words lol...I would say she is in denial that is going to make her a happy person in the long run

for real comedy:

they should have a dvd in 10 years:

suicide girls - 10 years later.

bet they're all fat, straight, popped out 2 kids, divorced, jaded, arguing with men on ef. hahaha.

sg - just another avenue for hot chicks to get attention from men. nothing more. big market for that and satisifies the 'all about me' generation.

Based on my penchant for Industrial music and "dark movies" one could technically describe me as "goth." However, these is no way I'm dropping 100 pounds, wearing make-up and dressing in all black. Hmmmmm..I do have a disproportionate amount of black clothing....hmmmmm....

Um, no. I dress metal. None of that makeup shit.

I suppose it does wash together as an outsider looking in, though.

Yeah i am pretty sure goth / emu styles have their roots in that metal style....

Very Similar Look....

I think Metal was 80s, Goth was 90's, Emu is the new millenium... all the same thing just evolved????

No, they're still quite different. Gothic had its roots in the '70's and '80's with The Cure and Bauhaus, and was always a less-popular sub-genre with little musical prowess. Metal has often adopted gothic imagry, which may or may not even be assiciated with the gothic scene.

My style of dress was more akin to Dismember/Incantation/Cannibal Corpse. Straightfoward and more tough/biker oriented than poofter shit, you know?

I can see how someone dressed completely in black can be confused with another person dressed completely in black by the media. All these subcultures confuses me....

Just because most band shirts are black doesn't mean that a metalhead wears all black, lol.

loolloll..I remember when "Metal" was AC/DC and then I was introduced to Megadeth by a borly on the wrestling team.

AC/DC were always more hard rock. The '80's harbored a lot of good metal, but the tag used by the media with the hair stuff really obfuscated what people called metal. You never saw Sodom, Destruction, Venom, Bathory, or Morbid Angel on MTV. Actually, I think MA had one single on Headbanger's Ball. But the more extreme generes have always stayed out of the limelight, save for the whole Vikernes/Euronymus thing in Norway.

I personally never really wore back jeans... I never liked the all-black image.

I think the extreme genres take pride in being out of the limelight. GreenDay has definite punk roots but they were disavowed once they became mainstream. I own ever album/cassette ever released by AC/DC. :)

young freaky girls.. they create that look thats borderline schizo.. so guys (and some women) are attracted to it knowing how sexual they are. Not real hard to figure out.

goes back to that old saying "crazy chicks are good in bed"
