I thought this might have been the connection.jh1 said:I know a girl that co-founded the suicide girls group.... and she's in ur video.
She's a really hot goth girl. I hate goth chics, but she is like blonde hottie with this goth twist... really intriguing. Big old club coke / x whore big time.
Just moved to Chi Town from the Lou a few months ago.

sort of a fringe sub culture, not widely known, but I've seen it mentioned here and there.javaguru said:I read the wiki article and I'm out of the loop...they've been featured in many mainstream media sources.

do you think their poetry blogs and tired 'art' projects will be met with the same reception as pictures of them spread eagle with a double-ended dildo in hand?
lets be real here.
LuluDeren said:I can only assume you're militancy in regards to the morality of such a combination is probably rooted in discovering these girls are actually human. It's much easier to objectify someone if you whittle their existence down to a body part.

p0ink said:i have no moral objections to this, whatsoever. however, i do object to this being done in the name of art. so, you grab a handful of less than mediocre-looking girls, dye their dreadlocks purple and blue, and have them strip down from their halloween-esque clothing while they wax poetic and call that art? please...
what sort of artistic message is this trying to convey? what talent is involved with it?
this is simply a quasi-popular medium for otherwise ugly girls to get attention by being naked while justifying it as an 'artistic venture' rather than 'low-budget pornography'.
Personally, I'm a connoisseur of the velvet Elvis and Dog's Playing Poker genre.LuluDeren said:Why would you object? You don't determine how one chooses to express themselves and if they decide to call it poopies or art. You can forward your opinion on anything, it doesn't make what one person creates less pertinant.
I don't appreciate Thomas Kincade paintings but I'm not going to pass judgement on his relevance to the history of art unless I want to make a concerted effort to invest in *art*.

samoth said:Some chicks in my hometown are into that gothic-artsy stuff (sans pornography, I think) and I never really got it. I never liked the whole goth genre.

I've seen pics of you all emu / goth.

samoth said:Um, no. I dress metal. None of that makeup shit.
I suppose it does wash together as an outsider looking in, though.

jh1 said:Yeah i am pretty sure goth / emu styles have their roots in that metal style....
Very Similar Look....
I think Metal was 80s, Goth was 90's, Emu is the new millenium... all the same thing just evolved????

I hear death metal peeps are often confused with Goths by mainstream peeps.Stefka said:Silly 30-something midwestern boy.

I can see how someone dressed completely in black can be confused with another person dressed completely in black by the media. All these subcultures confuses me....samoth said:They never used to be... I don't see why they would now.

loolloll..I remember when "Metal" was AC/DC and then I was introduced to Megadeth by a borly on the wrestling team.samoth said:Just because most band shirts are black doesn't mean that a metalhead wears all black, lol.

I think the extreme genres take pride in being out of the limelight. GreenDay has definite punk roots but they were disavowed once they became mainstream. I own ever album/cassette ever released by AC/DC.samoth said:AC/DC were always more hard rock. The '80's harbored a lot of good metal, but the tag used by the media with the hair stuff really obfuscated what people called metal. You never saw Sodom, Destruction, Venom, Bathory, or Morbid Angel on MTV. Actually, I think MA had one single on Headbanger's Ball. But the more extreme generes have always stayed out of the limelight, save for the whole Vikernes/Euronymus thing in Norway.
I personally never really wore back jeans... I never liked the all-black image.

p0ink said:most of these girls think of this as 'art'.
but, in all reality, it is anything but art. it is simply the last resort for a bunch of untalented, failed, emo art students to get the attention their fathers and unemployed boyfriends never gave them.
sure, people will look at your 'artsy' photos, but that is only because you are flashing tits and vagina. and as luck would have it, people will find both tits and vaginas just a little bit more interesting than their shitty portfolios and laughable attempts at avant-garde 'art'/
