Strange Compliment??

rudy76

High End Bro
Platinum
I was at the chiropartor on Friday - he does a deep tissue massage then adjustment, anyway during the massage he asked me if I was a powerlifter. I said no I don't lift that heavy. He said "your not a power lifter hey?"

At first I took that as a compliment then I thought - aren't those power lifters usually like 25% BF. I've been working very hard to get the BF down to where it's at now.

You guys ever have this type of thing happen?

Well he was only a chiroparctor, so its not like he went to medical school, so i would just take it as compliment that your in good shape.

If he were super jacked or into bodybuilding maybe he might make that type of distinction. Chances are he was just saying you look like a strong dude.

def had no clue what he was talking about, prob tryin to stryke a convo. i would take it as a compliment, he prob meant somthing like this (wow ur a jacked ass mo fo i can barley get a deep massage thru all this solid muscle) hahahaha keep up the good work!!

Yeah hes trying to make a compliment .

Brad.

I'll explain the diff if he asks agin - stange when a guy asks you that as you wince in pain from what feels like him trying to rip off your gluteus medius.

I could hardly even answer it hurt so bad - my first deep tissue.

i just had my first deep tissue last month. awesome feeling afterwards wasnt it?

HA HA! Isn't it funny how we look at our bodies and still do not like them.

I know I have a good looking body and get compliments all the time, but god damn I need to get bigger and still need to do a lot of work.

I think I will never be satisfied with my body. It's just my mind set.

Take it as a compliment bro!

Was it ever. I went to a few shops afterwards and couldn't get my words straight - left me zoned right out - relaxed. I go again tomorrow since all he did last time was hip / lower back. I don't know if I could have handled much more.

You sure he wasn't coming on to you? LOL

Can't it be both? (family guy reference...)

Seriously though, I can relate. I had been dieting for a competition and two people mentioned how I had lost a "ton" of weight. I was freaked because 1) I don't want to ever be "small" again and 2) I didn't think I was that fat to begin with! And, they were probably just trying to give a compliment. We're so particular about our bodies.

I mean, the other thing that bothered me about the losing weight statement was that I actually had stayed about the same weight, just re-compositioned. So, while I can see what they were saying, it messed with my head... I'm just neurotic... And so are you! lol.

whatever u do dont ask HIM for the happy ending....LMFAO

Here is my take on it. He is a chiropartor and prob noticed you bones and joints are really our of wack. He might be thinking damn this guy must throw around some heavy weights for his bones/joints to be this out of place.

That could be it, I'm no Arnold but I like to pride myself on form so I don't suffer too much.

I think maybe it's because my lower back / glutes are getting well devolped from all the squats.

8and20, I live in a small town - got to drive for at least 90min for a happy ending around here - from a woman!!

If something as minor as slipping on an icy sidewalk can cause a subluxation, you better believe tossing heavy weights around can do this too.

After 12 years of football, my spine has seen some trauma. I get adjusted 4-6 times a week and getting healthier every week because of it.

What position? I was ORT for 6 years, compression every play.

Every position on the O and D lines.

In college switched from D End, to Tight end, played last 2.5 yrs at Center (switched mid season)

Arthritis started developing in my cervicals at age 20, even with a cowboy collar

My chiro is a stud. He won a silver medal in Greco Roman wrestling at the 1992 olympics. I train wrestling and jujitsu and probably wouldn't chance against him on the ground. He really enjoys cranking the shit out of people. I don't use him much anymore for chiro, because for me npp has became a cheaper and more effective option.

Last week I went to get a deep tissue massage.

lady Told me I had short muscles with little flexability.

I replied "Well I'm a bodybuilder not a yoga instructor"

but i do need to stretch more often , before during and after the workouts.

lack of flexibility causes me a lot of pain. I've started taking yoga classes twice a week (which kick my ass) and I've noticed gains in the weight room, particularly in the squats. Better ROM and form= more weight-more muscle!
