Still fat, thinking about trying the metabolic diet: Earn Karma!

Hey guys,

I am stuck at around 20% bf, for three weeks. wondering if any of you have expierince with the metabolic diet. How where your eneregy levels? I am wiped cause i haven't been doing my meal planning and am probably eating to little to compensate for not tracking my food. However, i think my current diet 40/40/20 isn't going to get me much lower than 20%, in any case. Any help would be appreciated here, thanks!

I have done the Anabolic Diet, which I think is now the Metabolic diet with a few tweaks. I ate this way for nearly a year and saw a crazy shift in body comp. I stayed around the same weight the whole time but my BF went from around an est 20% to very visible abs (9-10%). The first two or three weeks can be tough, especially if you eat a lot of carbs now, but once you are fat adapted it is smooth sailing. If you give it a try follow Pasquale's guidelines and when it comes time to carb up don't go crazy on the junk. Stick to low glycemic carb sources, at least at first. I would also eat over my maintenance cal levels at first because it will help during the fat adaption process. Once you are adapted, then start tweaking the cals to fit your weight lose goals. To me this way of eating is very demanding. You have to make sure you are not getting hidden carbs and you must count every carb that enters your body. I would highly recommend keeping a diet journal at fitday. Good luck and keep us updated.

I know that 20% for a woman is very healthy. I am 5'2", FYI. I want to compete in figure I need to get my BF to 14% or lower.

Now do you have something helpful to say? Do you need more info? Have you tried this diet?

wow, alittle attitude. 20% FOR NON-COMPETING WOMEN is pretty lean was my point.

have you tried to get a consultant to work with you on diet alone? if you want to compete i recommend one, at least for your first try.

I have been looking for someone. i live in the bay area. bodybuilding and figure are not big here. when i go to the gym and lift weights i get some crazy ass looks sometimes. so i have had trouble finding a figure coach around here.
sorry about the 'tude. i just don't like being told the obvious. i would want to be 16% no matter what, just so that you know.
