Steroids with heart problem?

I'm not thinking of juicing anytime soon, still got a couple of years natural left first. But I suffer/suffered from atrial fibrillation. I'm taking beta blockers for them, but I'll be coming off them soon. From the research, the only side effect to do with the heart is hypertrophy of it. I'm guessing most people will advise me not take them, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any direct reasons not to take them...heart related of course. Sorry if that didn't make sense, it's a bastard typing in forums on my iPhone!

When I first had the problem, they diagnosed it as svt, but after that, when I went to the hospital with it, they told me it was AF. The only symptom I've had with it is an elevated heart rate. No dizzyness/shortness of breath or anything. Last time I was in hospital was nearly 2 years ago.

Have you seen a cardiologist? I would talk to him/her and see what they have to say.

I was diagnosed w/SVT, and my cardiologist said it wouldn't affect my condition. I too was prescribed beta blockers (toprol).

I'm not exactly sure what the difference between SVT, and AF is so I can't say one way or another if you could cycle safely. Like I said, speak w/a cardiologist and see what they have to say.

That's re-assuring news, thanks. I haven't seen my cardiologist for a long time. I'll bring it up with my GP next time I see her, and if she isn't sure I'll book an appointment with my cardiologist. I don't think there's much difference between AF and SVT, except one starts in the ventricle and one in the atrium.

i would not do anything at all...
i dont have it but seeing how my dad and grandpa are in older age still dealing with it i would steer clear away..seems very risky..but maybe some people that have it cycle and can help

It won't affect your condition. Ventricular hypertrophy is much more common with steroid use, as the atria don't contract forcefully.

I'm not sure about AF, but with SVT it's basically just an extra pathway that occasionally an extra electrical signal gets sent and causes the heart to beat fast, can last a few min to a few hours.

As long as you stay away from stims, especially things like clen. It's no big deal, but like I said, i'm not too sure on the differences between AF and SVT

when my dads acts up he ends up in the hospital with heart beats over 600 pm..seems risky..alot of aas cause anxiety which could trigger it also...

Does your dad have SVT, or AF?

I'm assuming AF.

600bpm? is that right?

SVT is pretty common, and can't be easily fixed w/ablation.

Thats exactly what it is! Just an extra pathway.

I hear that! I was 16 when i first got it. I was always a big guy, but man did those drugs make me huge! Its taken me 6 years to finally get back down to my old weight.

600bpm? Jeez! Highest mine ever went to was 233, and that was pretty scary!

Ive had 2 catheter ablations on it, second one was alot more successful then the first but still didn't sor tit out fully.

Cheers for the advice guys. Ill have a word with my doc then, see what she has to say. Then again, in a couple of years, i might not even want to use them, and stay natural. Or my heart could fuck up bad, and using would be out of the question. Who knows...

Yeah talk with your doc. Hopefully in UK they aren't as ignorant as they are here about steroids. If you mention that word to doctors here, is like mentioning Lucifer to a priest.

I had some very bad cases of PVC years ago. Juice never gave me problems. Still have random weird palpitations and beginning a cycle they are more frequent but they go away once blood levels are stable. Avoiding stimulants helps a lot.

Doesnt he have an implanted defibrillator/pacemaker? Someone with his condition should have it, if hes having the problems you describe.

I honestly wouldnt be using any AAS with your condition. The risk/benefit ratio just isnt worth it. AAS are hard on the heart as it is, and having a pre existing condition like yours makes havnig a problem even more likely. Just not worth it.
