"Staying on steroids for joints"
Thats a good one!!
LOL!
It's weird since even though Deca makes your joints feel great, it isn't much for more "permanent" healing. It has some properties that make it like an anti-inflamatory (like prednisone, but not really).
From what I know, GH is one of the best things for long-term joint health, but you actually tend to have more pain in your joints while taking it. I think for LT joint health, you'll want to take into account 3 or 4 main things.
1) If on test or most other AAS, make sure to use something to counter the negative effect on collegen synthesis. If you're on test and get stronger - it's a double whammy. EQ will help and Deca is supposed to as well in increasing collegen synthesis. You need constant synthesis since it is constantly being broken down. You also need good blood flow.
2) Doing high rep, very low weight movements will help with blood flow (as much as possible), however, some joints only have decent blood flow on the edges of the end of a bone. This is what Pavel talks about in super joints.
3) If you're doing these first two things, you would be best served by maximizing their potential by taking glucosamine, chondroitin, gelatin, MSM. My thoughts are kind of like this: We probably as a group here eat a great deal of meat - usually clean muscle, but not much in terms of connective tissues. Way back, our ancestors ate the entire animal (as you often hear), which probably helped provide for joint repair. In fact, glucosamine is typically ground up throats from cattle.
4) Warm up. Even if you're only 18....walking on a treadmill is good, but if you are patient enough, warming up doing the actual lift will work. Just don't jump in and throw 500 pounds on the bar, no matter how strong you are....
I'm sure there are others (and they may have been mentioned - I didn't read every post).....
So....you CAN stay on if you like, but you need a better excuse
Good luck man!
