Squat PR

15 inch box 495 plus collars..
I literally smoked it... i left an easy 20 lbs in the gym which i will collect next week..

Also as a side note thnks to a recco by devastation i set a time PR as well lol
have to remeber not to rush my sets and take adequate rest since teh goal is to lift the weight not get a cardio workout..

What is the 15 inch box..is that how low your ass goes? that is some impressive weight bro..nice job.

yes you sit back and onto the box with a pause relaxing the hip flexors, keeping your abs tight, then flexing yourself off the box..

i posted a vid of Ano a world class lifter doing them ill find it so you can take a look

Woohoo....Way to go wnt2. 600 is getting closer and closer....You'll smoke that by the end of the year easily.

god damn work proxy..access denied. I think I get the jist of it though. That is even more impressive. 385 and my knees feel like they will explode but then again when i first started squating this summer 225 felt like my knees would explode, then i started going below parallel and the pain magiclly disappeared. Now as the weight goes up my confidence goes down and it is effecting my workouts but my legs respond so much better to squats then leg press it is night and day.

btw, i'm such a newbie, i got freaked out when i hadn't realized those were weight releasers in the video!

yeah Ano squatted over 1000 in comp..bands/chains/weight releasers should be used when your advanced..its better to have a base before you pull out all the stops..WhenCV first got to WSB they never used chains/bands and his lifts all went up

be a competetive powerlifter in the APF or IPA
my lifts have skyrocketed and ive only been doing a WSB routine for about 8 weeks..also i havent even touched the super supps either..

im happy now with my lifts but i want them better if you know what i mean..i do my box squats very strict with a pause and NO rocking it should be good for a 100lb carry over so that would put me close to 600..but it doesnt count until i actually do it lol

My bench is my weakest lift..although i need to be getting into a shirt since the groove of a shirt and raw is quite different im close to 405 raw and im hoping a shirt will give me 500 within a few months..

deads are coming along as well//although i havent pulled heavy in some time my lower back/glute/ham strength is up ..

i may take weights in all my lifts in a few weeks to see where i am at and to also recalulate my percentages

it will.
you have a very respectable bench now- anything over 400 is something to be proud of. i know you're going to be very happy when you start using gear regularly.

Trying to get back into things. I only trained 5-6 times over christmas, then spent last week in Vegas. I guess the only good thing about vegas was that i walked everywhere, probably close to 10 miles a day since everything is so spread out. I trained at BigDho's gym over break and fucked with a couple of big boys who thought they were strong as hell. He has a small, but really, really nice gym, all stat of the art equipment, and a cool ass protein smoothy bar. I figure next week ill start killing things again, im just going to hit everything moderately this week.

there is a powerlifting gym in vegas- i can't remember where but if you're going back, i'll find out. I have a friend who is a traveling bluegrass musician and i think she's been to every gym on the western side of the US.

If we're talking about average people here, anything over 315 is something to be proud of. 405 is not common except in my old gym. :chomp:

Not heading back till august. Just too many blackjack tables to get any training done. Plus i was with a couple of lazy buddies.

I would like to see Ano lift in the IPF. Steve Goggins Squats 1100 in some bullshit organisation were they allow half depth squats and any suit and when he lifted in IPF comp he couldnt do 800. :chomp:

if its so easy why dont you get yourself a triple denim and challenge them head to head..

Fortunately, it should only take one week and then i will be back killing the weights again. However, i may be relocating soon, so that could put a damper on my training.

I could say "why dont they take all that shit off and lift in the IPF"..People who dont lift see the bigger picture, like when someone cant get 620 to the chest then cant lockout 640. I'm not attacking you wnt2bBeast I'm stating that if powerlifting is to make the Olympics, the IPF would be the favoured organisation.

its NOT making it to the olympics and he wasn't in the IPF so it doesn't matter. who knows what kind of tennis people would be playing if they didn't have the best rackets and shoes. or what kind of olympic swimming we'd see if they had to wear bloomers instead of ultra slick trunks. or what kind of bobsled events we'd have if the bobsleds had to be made the same way they are made by eskimos.
you can SAY a lot of things, but if a guy lifts in a legitimate fed and gets whited by the judges, who is anyone to criticize it. don't be like that till its YOU up on the platform.

nothing wrong with lifting single ply...which is why you cant compare an IPF lift to a WPO lift...i wasnt attacking you either all i was saying is there are a ton of people who will criticize a lift..all im saying is shut your mouth (not you persoanlly lol) and go compete with tem in the same equipment and see what you can do..and the same goes for those that lift in double and triple layers put on a singly ply and ldo an IPF comp..its comparing apples to oranges :)

I sort know where youre coming from but an eskimoes bobsled is his "family car" and a comp bobsled is a (formula 1 race car) If you want to respect past records set legit like javelin or shot put you dont design wings for the javelin or make the circle bigger for the shot.Anyway each to his own and I will be on the platform at IPF worlds Miami,USA Nov 2005. :) GoodLuck with youre lifting.
