Squat or Deadlift?

Which exercise do you think builds more muscle? I always thought squats were king, but now that I do deadlifts I find I'm growing all over like crazy.
 
I think deadlifts are the #1 exercise for total body mass myself, I just love checking my calendar and seeing that its deadlift day :)
 
I do them sumo and they are so similar in movement (my dead is basically a squat with my arms as hooks) that I get good results from both. Of course, anytime you introduce something new and compound like deads the new growth will be awesome :)

Squats...

Squats build the dead...deads test the dead.

Deads are above all moves in my opinion for massive MASS all over, no shit, I swear by deads, I went from 170 to 195lbs in 7 months (body weight lean) "I think" deads have been at LEAST 2/3 of that weight gain, No nevermind, "I know" !!!

Trapbar deads are possibly even more productive than regular deads as well. They work the legs more.
 
I shall speak!!!

Squats without a doubt. . .then again deads are good.

If it comes down to one or the other. . . I would choose squats.

Both. I find them to be complementary exercises.
